Unfortunately, OP was only able to properly execute half of this solid advice.

I'll tell you about this piece of **** excuse for a poker site. I deposited 200 dollar on this site 3 weeks ago, and after getting used to the horrid software, frequent disconnections, and laggy server, I managed to win thousands of dollars at the NL tables, working my way up from stakes of .50/1 to 5/10 within 3 weeks.
The players (European/American) are the worst kinds of fish you can imagine. I'm talking so bad that they will simply open shove $200 on your blind with random cards, or just re raise you every hand with anything. Within 2 weeks I had over ten thousand dollars and began the withdrawal process. I won't get into the details, but every single withdrawal request went to "pending" status and after 3 days would be cancelled. No explanation, just cancelled. After calling customer support, an obviously slow/mentally challenged person would pick up and proceed to tell me my documents were not sent properly. Mind you I sent them everything they requested to all their email addresses (which I was told to send them to a different email address by a different representative every time). I used different cameras, scanners, and everything possible to try to meet their requirements. No good. Another week or two passes and my bankroll is now at $22,000. Desperate to see some of my money, I chip dumped to a buddy of mine who was going to try to do the withdrawal under his name. I chip dumped 2k to him and the next day both of our accounts are cancelled and all the money is seized. I now realize why there is not one decent player on the site, because any winning poker player will find that they cannot withdraw their money. Only the fish and donks remain on this site because they never have to withdraw. DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM BETONLINE.com! IT IS A SCAM!

Out of all the posts you could have quoted from this thread...

Fees for withdrawing are outrageous, but sports betting makes for very soft games IMO.

One free check per month but must be req on a Fri between 9-1 est. Min check withdrawal is $500. $50 fee for checks.

They should also fix their software. If you disconnect while in a hand, you are considered all-in. Seen this happen too many times.
fish: 9/10
Withdraws:6/10
Software:6/10

CS seemed to be ok.
Haven't tried their withdrawals yet. And that is smth i'm very interested to hear about from you.

I think you've got that wrong. BetOnline is a highly rated book on SBR. The complaints are about a scam sportsbook with a similar name BetOnline247. Those complaints have nothing to do with BetOnline as the sites are not related.

No try reading the forums. Everyone is accusing SBR of looking over it because they're a sponsor.

I can't speak for payouts, I play low-level, win, enter higher stakes, eventually lose some, go back to low-level, rinse, and repeat (I know the math, am patient, and have been able to keep myself going on 6 (4 now, since the US closings) sites for years with only requiring a 2nd deposit once. I can, however, speak to their software, the fish conspiracy, and the idiot threatening to reveal our personal info, if we disagree with him ( ).

I'm a certified tech with a ACS BA & 25+ yrs exp. in programming and corporate repairs (I walk into Pepsi Cola, Gov.agencies, etc etc, to fix what their techs can't). The software is pretty bad, not only in features, but in stability, as well. The note-taking with no partial quick view, inability to recall seat, lack of quick tags, settings having a mind of their own, unstable connections, no time bank preserve, unstable info box, sitting u out at random, hiding your own cards, freeze ups, lags, and a whole slew of various glitches. These all vary in severity, depending on your OS, background apps/services, & if you're smart enough to keep your AV on. They have live chat & email support, which would be nice, except they're completely dishonest; will tell you these probs are unheard of & send you off searching for client-side probs that don't exist. The probs stem from severe memory leaks, due to poor programming, that cause conflicts with other active processes.

The one thing they do right, which all other sites foolishly backed up from, after the US shutdowns, is that they feed their fish (decent freerolls for cash, not satellites to more freerolls, and low-level tourneys with generous structures). The longer it takes for the blinds to get large, the more skill factors into winning, not luck. Anyone that knows how to play, wants to be feeding on fishies, not battling sharks. The donk complaints come from players who push all-in with AQ & then get angry, cause they think a nice preflop "draw" should be a guarantee; Plus players who don't understand pot odds and think 32% postflop draws are the mortal nuts.

As for the idiot threatening to reveal your personal info, well... we call them hacker-wannabes in my trade. I'd be shocked if that moron could find the PC power button twice in a row, let alone hack anything.

The Merge Gaming Network (Players Only, PDC, RPM, Lock, & Carbon Poker) has among the most stable and clever software, I've seen. Unfortunately, their structures are very stingy, and there aren't many ops to find a good low-level tourney that isn't a "slot machine race". They do offer cash freerolls, but don't entice the fishies to stay beyond that. Bodog's software is good (not as good), has really nice structures, but very few low-level freeze outs. If you're like me & play to enjoy game & aren't trying to be the next boob on TV, these are the good choices, but you can't play whenever you want.

Update:

I wanted to clarify that I am not stating to stay away from BetOnline. For one, no company freely admits they are at fault and all of them send you off searching for client-side probs. Two, all new software is buggy and needs the kinks worked out. Finally, their willingness to keep the fish fed and offering generous structures at lower-levels should not be under-appreciated... this is a HUGE factor to low-level players and all other sites turned incredibly stingy, after their most prominent US competition was shut down.

not exactly related to the topic, but today my antivirus program detected "betonline poker.exe" as "PDM.DNS Query" virus and put it in the category "legal software that can be used by criminals for damaging your computer and personal data"...
interesting....

and today the same thing again - site is down. rooms are closed... Connection problems..
suckers...
11-29-2011 , 01:13 AM
over the past 3 hours they brought servers at least 4 times. all this time intermediate connection problems. These guys are clueless of the problem they experience. I leave others to judge if the site is worth putting any money in.
11-29-2011 , 02:58 AM
Its not, check the other threads about these crooks.
11-29-2011 , 08:24 AM
How did the guy who had 60k or so frozen make out? Going to have to search will post link in this thread. Nothing but horror stories about betonline whenever someone tries to cash out from what I have seen. Cashout problems are pretty rampant based on such a small site. Meant to say lot of chip dumping allegations when people try to cash out.

Read above thread and comments in it , that should be enough to persuade anyone not to deposit funds and if it isn't then play at your own risk and don't complain on here when you get ripped off.

FYI:
recently learned that they charge 5% rake. no rakeback program.

I looked at the main thread and didn't see it mentioned, and I'm not sure if it is or has skins. I depo'ed there yesterday and my God the PLO players are awful. I mean they stack off with anything, but does anyone have experience dealing with this site / cashing out?
