Wow. This is really excellent. Can anyone help me to use it a little better. My question is what is the ideal % to enter in the green/red cells? Since this is a chipEV and not ICM based. I assume it is calculated off positive chip equity and not taking into consideration the risk/reward ratio. I usually use .5 or less as a standard edge w/ ICM calculators. What is an appropriate edge % to use for the red and green fields here?
Should I use 0% for red, or limit borderline hands by using a small percentage like 1%? The green default % was set to 15% Do I need a +ev% this high to justify risk and be able to consider it a "primo hand?"
Sorry if these are dumb questions.
Thanks

Outstanding! I understand that this is cEV rather than ICM, but I'm wondering if there is some way to take "bubble factors" from "Kill Everyone" into account, perhaps by including a cell for input where the user could put in their guess of a bubble factor (based on their understanding of the situation) which would then have the appropriate effect on the 13x13 grid.

I'm thinking this would be especially relevant wrt calling ranges.

Thanks again for contributing this great spreadsheet.

Alright maybe a dumb question but hoping someone can help me out. I don't have much experience with SNG Wiz but could someone explain what the difference is between this seriously cool chart itt and SNG Wiz? Any help is appreciated.

The chart is based on chip expectation alone. So it tells you if, in the long term, a particular shove will have a positive expectation based on the dead money in the pot, the effective stack, and the assumed calling ranges of the villains.

SnG Wiz does the same thing, but instead of telling you if a shove will produce more chips in the long run, it tells you if it will produce more dollars (based on the payout structure of the tournament). You cannot assume that each chip in a tournament is of equal dollar value (it is not). In fact, the chips you earn from a shove (or a call of a shove) are not as valuable as the chips you have in your stack. The link below provides a simple explanation of that effect.

Thanks JIT for that explanation. So is it safe to say that the chart you produced is better suited for non final table situations earlier on in a MTT and SNG Wiz would be best suited for analyzing FT situations?

Yep, you got it 100%. I would perhaps say that this chart (cEV) is best for far from the money situations and during the long flat sections of payouts in large MTTs, and SnG Wiz is best for final tables. There isn't a good tool for bubble situations, but read KE and learn about bubble factors and you can use the cEV chart.

gobucks, SNG Wiz does cEV calculations too...

just change it from $EV to Chip EV.
also when you're in $EV mode you need to make sure it's using the payout structure of the tournament being reviewed.

Does the equation of the excel still hold good if there are Multiple All ins in the pot already with one or two of them having you covered. Is there any guide wrt using this Excel, of course dint go thru the thread completely.

Thanks for posting and can I have a Yahoo ID of any of the 180 Turbo regulars, just have lot of doubts. Started recently in Stars and won two decent MTCTs hence up around $5k, but really wanted to get to the grass root level of this strategies. Reading is not my forte, conversation is, so any guidance is highly appreciated.

Warmest Regards & yes my ID is ladcameo@yahoo.com, same as the Magical Mysteria, guess will stop using that.

Hey, hopefully this hasnt already been answered for several times....

I have tried to compare the wiz ranges vs the pushbot chart... I just tried one example but I seem to misinterpret something here as I get different ranges (WIZ: 8.0 vs BOT: 10.9)... can anybody tell me where the problem is?

thanks a lot for any reply !

Well by this question am sure you will gauge that am an absolute infant of the top most draw.. Just wanted to know in the $2 or $12 MTTs, when Should I resort to the Push-Fold style of play. Is it not hazardous if you are stacked say around 10-12k and there are some 30 odd players left and the blinds are 300-600 range & you pick up a hand like AJ early on and push and get called by a better hand you get knocked out or lost most of your holdings?

Is there any basic basic guide which signifies the essence of this strategy? Haven’t played these with great success anyway but won some $12s and $7s in the euphoria of few recent MTCT deep finishes, but I need a grass root understanding of this. Request any of you to please take some time out and provide a link or email to ladcameo@yahoo.com..

Thanks in advance for any help contemplated.

Hello guys,

Im new here and I just found this thread and found that chart quite useful.

I have a question about it tho. It may sound stupid but when I open it with excel I cannot really change anything.. There's no such options. Can anyone tell me what may be the problem?

Thanks alot!

I will ship you a few $ on pay pal. Would love an update.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to find a push/fold chart for full ring MTTs that will take in to account antes. I have just found the Push Bot one but you guys seem to think it's out of date:

That one is at: http://members.cox.net/wastrel333/Pushbot%20Charts1.pdf
