At first glance, it appears to be same as regular 1k bracket, with bonus points being awarded for difference in seed #'s.

::: BRACKETS :::

Make sure you fill in your whole bracket before first tip. I'll delete all the incomplete brackets when the tourney starts.

Your payment must be received before the tournament starts on Thursday morning.

::: ESCROWS :::

Can you post here as payments roll in? I'll update the OP.

::: RANDO BRACKETS :::

This will be a random upset pool with seed weighting. If you want to enter a rando bracket, ship your dough to an escrow and go here to sign up for a bracket but don't fill it in. Enter as many brackets as you want for this pool.

2010 HSNL 1K Rando Bracket Pool
[group: 147464, password: rootbone]

As far as randomizing these, I don't have the time to do a double blind randomization for each bracket like we do for Superbowl Pool. We could use one of the online rando bracket pickers but I guess you guys would have to trust me that I don't game it. Or somebody else could step up and run the rando process. Pretty sure we have to have these filled in by first tip, I don't think Yahoo will let you go backfill after the tourney starts. So, open for suggestions on this.

i am happy to pay my assistant to set up 30 random brackets (via one of the randomizer sites i listed) on yahoo or whatever, she can name them 1-30 and then we can raffle for #s? better ideas welcome.
03-16-2010 , 12:24 PM
im going to delete one of my 3 1k entries and use that 1k for the rando pool... There is an option for random brackets on yahoo but I don't know if the guy running it can run everyones, obviously ppl cant just their own.

Im fine with either admo or cole handling the randomization

good call DAT MOOSE -- i see that it looks like I can add 5 brackets per yahoo account and randomize them all easily using their "fill random" button. i don't mind making 5 yahoo accounts or whatever and entering all the random brackets in a pool. then we can randomize who gets which one. does this sound reasonable? how much interest is there in this?

Awesome, that will save heaps of time. I'll kick out 25% to her if anyone sends a tipout this year!

Have her log in and create a bracket and I'll make her a pool admin so she can fill out some brackets online.

ill take a random bracket, will prolly fill out some 1ks as well
03-16-2010 , 12:47 PM
id done the random upset pool too, gonna be taking a 1k as well
03-16-2010 , 01:01 PM
whoa didn't even realize that there was a "Fill Random" option in Yahoo.

edit: Yahoo is not like CBS, an admins can't go in and edit or see someone else's bracket.

Maybe Cole's original idea sounds best? His assistant sets up a bunch of rando brackets in Yahoo and then we rando who gets which one? I just want to make sure everyone who is in the pool can sweat the tourney by logging in to see the standings.

We can probably make the pool public after its all filled in and the tourney starts.
