Previous thread: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...-20nl-1441263/

A little background story:
In 2015 I successfully moved on to small stakes (100nl+). I was a small winner in bb/100, making ~3k/month in EV, but not a great player, just a bumhunter. I also had multiple mental game leaks that I managed to fix.
Last November things exploded. I had my first 10k month, followed by insane 24k month (10k EV). When you thought that things would slow down in 2016, then the 10k day happened at New Year's Eve.
Now I'm taking action up to 1k, following a strict table selection. I'm working on my game a lot and hoping to be able to start 1k tables in the future.
My main losses last year came from HU. I'm improving in that format too.

Long terms goals regarding poker: Well this is my "get rich"-scheme and my road to financial independence. It's an insane opportunity and my success is self-made. Going to enjoy it while it lasts. I'm not sure if real jobs will fulfill me atm, so I'm considering quitting my degree and becoming a full-time pro.

Not going to dream small this year. I'm highly ambitious and very risk averse atm. If things go badly wrong, I'll gladly take the chill pill. Until then...

Goals for 2016:
Quote:
[ ] 100k profits
[ ] Start exercising
[ ] No complaining, positive thinking
[ ] Profitable in HU
[ ] Positive red line????
GL all!!

And for anyone wondering, I play on multiple sites. Stars, MPN, iPoker, OnGame...

Played long session today since the games were good. I ran bad in many ways. Some spots where I should win 90% of the time, but had the 10% happen. I also bluff catched very loosely vs fish which is something you shouldn't do if things are going badly. But I was right both times.
Made it out +EV which is very nice. I set a goal recently to stop complaining, which helped me to keep my mindset good during the session.

This helps

short results update, I'll write more later.

Played 2 HU matches yesterday. One was at 1k trying to get games started. The guy had a high 3-bet %, but not many leaks. I mainly played for practise. The red line was really high because he made some weird raise/folds OTT and I also ran well.

2nd match at 600. This guy had more obvious leaks, but I doubt I had a big edge on him. So if I play someone I don't have an edge on, it just means I want to get better.
Lost AKo < AA, then KJ TP < AJ 3bp. I reviewed the match and I think I played really well. Made few mistakes ofc but overall I played very solid.
Guy later claimed that he ran really well, which I can believe. There's a psychological effect of opponent being up few BI's on you, so I left before I would get desperate
Went for a long walk, think that's good after a bad session.

This was the KJ hand from yesterday. I suppose it's good, don't know if it's the most +EV, but I think he can bet that sizing w/ weaker Jx. Don't know if shoving is an overplay but I think it's +EV still.

Today started rather well. Did not see this coming. Yesterday I was feeling down and thinking of dropping the limits. It's a big puzzle.
Not the highest ambitions atm, but could we see another 10k day? Wish me luck!

Never been so exhausted after a session.
Ran poorly after the heater session. Got seat at 2k vs reloading 47/18 fish and decided to one table that. Was very card dead and didn't really win any pots. Then reg joined me at 600nl and we played a HU match. I didn't really have an edge on him so it was one of those practice matches again. He did have few leaks though. I (pre)-adjusted well, even up to the point where I might have over-adjusted. Very happy about my play regardless.
I played surprisingly well, even though my frustration levels were very high. Just couldn't flop anything basically.
I also played another HU match vs short-stacker aggro fish which was very frustrating. Every time you checked he was betting. Just kept telling myself that you don't have to do anything crazy vs guys like that.
So maybe the theme of today was patience.

HU match:

Overall:

Gross cooler vs aggro fish

UTG was the fish of the table. He was open limping a lot which is a good sign for 2k games. He left soon afterwards though.
I don't check my results during session. Even though results were bad in that session I managed to hit peak-state, and that's a good time to shot higher.

I'm 22.
I was studying telecommunications. The financial success of poker came out of nowhere. I've been thinking about what money means to me, what are my long-term goals and so on. Most 22-year olds are either studying or then they work at trainee jobs. A lot of people have a dream of making it big financially.
Having achieved that dream, it makes you think again what you want to do for living and so on
Great thing about poker is that it makes you realize just how capable you are once you put your focus into something. There can be so many setbacks in other areas of life which prevent you from succeeding.
Think it's becoming clear that if I keep making money at this pace, the value of the degree goes down. You would have to start all over again basically, climbing the corporate ladder and putting in the hours there. In tech fields there's also this "Keeping up the skills" which bothers me.
Then there's this whole economic recession, youth unemployment and so on... I'm just happy with playing poker, it's both challenging and rewarding.
But I haven't taken any action yet towards quitting the degree since I live in student apartment. Currently taking a year off.
