Yeah, I hear you and you are probably right. I haven't made my decision yet.

I will say, though, that I'll definitely hire someone to do the foundation work.

As for the other stuff, I'm sort of capable. I gutted my house and reframed the entire interior myself. I also built my detached garage myself. I worked as a roofer when I was young so that is easy (technically, not physically). So, I have some carpentry knowledge and all of the necessary tools. The biggest issue is, like you said, time. Stuff needs to be fixed asap and I work full time. I do plan on taking some vacation time to get things started. And, I'll hire day labor for helping me do heavy work but, yeah, I hear you.
