| How can I reset my password? |
If you forget your password, you can click on the 'Forgotten Your Password' link. This will appear on any page that requires you to fill in your password. This link brings up a page where you should enter your registered email address. An email will be sent to that address shortly, with instructions for resetting your password. Since passwords are encrypted, there is no way to resend your original password. This option provides you with the ability to reset your password. You must be able to receive emails to your registered email address for this to work. You may need to check your spam filters and folder if you do not see this email in a few minutes. |
| Why can't I use private messages? |
To prevent spam we require that new members participate in the community before private messaging is activated. Normal use of the forums will automatically enable this feature. While we don't disclose the exact requirements, they are easy to meet. We have no wish to limit those new to 2+2 who are only looking to be a part of the community. If you wish to contact a moderator or the administration before your PM box is enabled, use posts or send email to support at support@twoplustwo.com |

| Why am I automatically signed out after 15 minutes of inactivity? |
Use 'remember me' to avoid problems with this if it comes up a lot for you. Just manually log out when you're done if you don't wish to stay signed in indefinitely. vBulletin uses a session timeout to keep track of everything that's happening on 2+2. When you go idle that long it stops paying attention to what you're doing, freeing up resources for active traffic. |

Everyone has a title that is displayed under their name. Some are automatically assigned based on the number of posts a user has made, while others are given by the site to denote official representatives or other VIPs. | How can I change my name on the forums? |
Generally we don't allow name changes that would completely alter a poster's identity without a decent reason. With that in mind, PM any serious requests to a red administrator. |

It's easy to mark specific forums or all of 2+2 as 'read'. The latter can be found in 'My 2+2' and near the bottom of the main forum index. Use the option in 'forum tools' when viewing a list of threads or double-click this icon from the index to clear a particular forum:  |
