Hammocks. There is nothing wrong with relaxing so hard you feel like you're floating in mid-air. Combos well with everything, especially if you can convince yourself the construction noise from down the block is just the pounding of the surf.

Re: YOUR favorite things
Tripit - A mobile app. Excellent for frequent travellers *cough* Terrence *cough*. You forward your itinerary to plans@tripit.com and they're automatically added to your profile. That's the most basic function, but the Pro (paid) version has more features.
Buddhify - Another mobile app, this one's for meditation. I'm only very new to this and have only listened to the pre-sleep track, but it has different meditation tracks for many different moods and situations.
Cold brew coffee - Not iced coffee, there's a difference. Coffee grounds that have been steeped in cold water for 12+ hours. It has much a stronger flavour than iced coffee and doesn't taste diluted. Drink is straight black, no milk or sugar. Perfect for summer.

criticker.com
rate movies that you've seen out of 100 and it will suggest movies that you will like and also tell you what you'll likely think of other movies that you search for based upon how people with similar tastes rated them.
It's eerily accurate and has 11,773,000 movies on file.

Wow, gotta try this. Thanks for the tip.
Also, found this: http://food52.com/blog/7317-how-to-m...-brewed-coffee
But I agree, straight black.

Re: YOUR favorite things
We've gone over favourite TV shows before. Since the last time, I'm liking The Comedians, it's a little like Larry Saunders; Expedition Unknown, it's like Destination Truth except there's only the one guy and even though he's now looking for substantial things, he still finds nothing; Archer, can't wait for the next season; Bob's Burgers, I think we can now say it is pretty good.

Surly Bikes
www.surlybikes.com
They make a bike for every rider, save the weekend warrior-carbon rider. But if you aren't looking to race or drop 2 G's on a bike, they have a bike for you.
Jamie xx
Electronic artist from London. Part of the band The xx. At the cutting edge of electronic music currently.
Bernie Sanders
Speaks for himself.
True Detective
Yes, this season doesn't quite measure up to last season, but, it takes big big bawls to change your cast, setting, plot, director(s), and cinematographer(s), AND be subjected to being juxtaposed with Season 1 of True Detective.

this is fantastic, thanks for sharing! After rating 15 or so movies, it was able to reasonably predict my rating for other movies.
Going to check out some of their suggestions when I have some time.

One more favourite thing, the TV show Silicon Valley. Created by Mike Judge and similar format to Entourage; 30 min shows that are very easy to consume. So many great characters and quotable lines. Edging on predictable, but still an absolute joy to watch.

Re: YOUR favorite things
TV show: Victoria Coren-Mitchell's 'Only Connect'. I've been toying with the idea of getting a team together for years. A friend of mine is the captain of the most successful team ever on the show so I'd only feel inadequate in comparison.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Only_Connect
I have no idea if it is shown anywhere outside of the UK, but if you get a chance to watch it, do.

Don't want to bring the mood down to politics but the Mayday organization. Their tagline is "embrace the irony" and "the superpac to end all superpacs". The idea being that they are trying to raise money to donate to politicians who have pledged to remove lobbying (i.e. Bribery) from politics. Massive task but needs to be done.

Nomad List: It's a website that rates world cities with an eye toward quality of life attributes. Target audience seems to be long-term travelers and location-independent workers. Are poker players using and contributing to this? If so, I would find the results even more relevant.

I'm just happy if I can get a question, let alone an answer.
My favourite thing is the 'No such thing as a fish' podcast presented by the fact checkers behind QI. (QI elves). Each week is four random facts and some interesting discussion and some rambling on that fact by some incredibly clever people. Check it out.

Re: YOUR favorite things
My favourite things:
Roast potatoes (no effing gravy). Would be my death row last meal.
Iceland - awesome country, with geysers, geothermal lagoons, waterfalls, lava sand, the northern lights, glaciers, volcanoes and all that awesome stuff. You should go there if you have never been.
Orchestral violins - a sound so pure that it resonates in your bones and makes you forget everything else for a moment.
A quick wank - whats not to like.
Bacon/pizza/titties - but not necessarily in that order

Re: YOUR favorite things
My favourite thing at the moment is probably coupled with this week in bad parenting....me and my 9 year old son have started doing PLO flips, if he wins he gets to stay up half an hour later and if i win he goes to bed half an hour earlier. He has to tell me who won the hand and get it right or i win by default.

Re: YOUR favorite things
+1 for a quick wank. Why not try a dangerwank and don't lock the bathroom door when your wife is home?
Gigs - live music is awesome and the only way I really spend money on music these days. I think I've seen Maximo Park over 20 times (one of the best live bands around, see them if you get the chance).

I LOVE that podcast. The QI elves were a team on Only Connect, and they were pretty darn good.
I just finished re-watching The West Wing. I don't think there has been a finer TV series.

Re: YOUR favorite things
my favourite thing this week has to be the start of the football (soccer) season which kicks off next Saturday.
Its the time of year when I can dream that my team (Sheffield Wednesday) will actually do something this season, until of course after the first game and reality sets in. so give us some pokercast karma for the season and lets see if the karma really works.

Good luck in the season, apart from when you come to Birmingham

Due to your awesome 2+2 name I deem SW the official football team (Championship table) of the Pokercast. Sheffield Wednesday is also an awesome team name. Nice double.
Pokercast karma engage!
PS Should we be happy with the Rhoys Wiggins and Modou Sougou signings? Wonder if we could get one of them on the show for an update
PPS Taking applications for the official Premier League team ofc

Seeing as the Championship team has gone and I'm a fan of on of Wednesday's rivals, Leeds Utd, how about AFC Bournemouth for the Premier League.
This is their first time in the top flight of English football.

Re: YOUR favorite things
Done.
Sheffield Wednesday and AFC Bournemouth official teams of the Pokercast for 2015/16.
Looks like an easy win week 1 vs Villa.
