20). Name a former Main Event champion who will bust Day 1 of the Main Event

So we got a couple of variations of incorrect answers for this one:

-Did not play
-Made it to Day 2

Carlos Mortensen wasn't on any chip counts or live reporting and so I can only assume that he's busto and he didn't play.

Hard luck TChan
07-07-2018 , 03:39 AM
Then we've got those who played and survived to day 2 (also incorrect)

Let's start with those that played Day 1A

Joe Hachem made it through with 84,700

Hard luck Gujanator and BingeThinker

also Scotty Nguyen survived with 84,400

Buzzer noise for True North and Wilbury Twist

Tom McEvoy also made it through with 26,300 chips

Incorrect guess by Richiegone

Then onto Day 1B

Johnny Chan made it to Day 2 with 151,100 chips

Incorrect guesses by Recreational Player and Smitty300

Greg Merson hung on in there with 55,000 in chips

meaning that xander biscuits was wrong

Then we move onto Day 1C

Robert Varkonyi might be the forgotten world champ but The Mentaculus didn't forget him

Robert however forgot to bust and made it through the day with 146,200 chips

Phil Hellmuth made a big entrance but didn't make an exit on Day 1 as he advanced with $63,700 (I called them dollars just for him)

Shame on darrinc for doubting the mighty PH14

Joe Cada limped over the line with 16,500 in chips but we've seen him turn few chips into a championship before now

eleanor60 was wrong with this one
07-07-2018 , 04:06 AM
Then we are left with 2 correct answers

Neither had a well reported send off but here's the moment in which the masses were informed that Qui Nguyen was no longer with us:

Congrats that_pope for predicting that one
07-07-2018 , 04:08 AM
Jerry Yang ended the day with zero chips but this is the only post about him all day:

Congrats PeteBlow for getting this one

So the incorrect sheep of 2 and 2 correct answers mean that incorrect answers score 4 points this question.

21). Name someone who will cash the Main Event

1,182 players cashed so how hard could it be to name one of them?

turns out it's pretty difficult when you realise that 6,692 people try to cash it and fail
07-08-2018 , 07:44 AM
Let's start off with some incorrect answers with some bust out details where possible.

Maria Ho was the most popular incorrect answer as PeteBlow, Wilbury Twist and Smitty300 predicted that she'd make the money

she did not
07-08-2018 , 07:45 AM
I don't think that Howard Lederer even played the main event this year.

Needless to say that he didn't cash

Incorrect answer for Recreational Player
07-08-2018 , 07:47 AM
These guys came, played and did not cash.

Here they are in action:

Gujanator - Marcel Luske

True North - Jeff Lisandro
07-08-2018 , 07:51 AM

Richiegone backed Phil Hellmuth to cash, but not only did he not cash but he caused a little controversy

Also there are some players bowed causing a little less fuss and not getting any coverage at all

darrinc - Alexander Freund
The Mentaculus - Georgios Zisimopoulos
xander biscuits - Jonathan Little
07-08-2018 , 07:58 AM
then onto the correct answers:

BingeThinker picked James Obst who is sitting pretty going onto Day 4 with 615,000 in chips

07-08-2018 , 07:58 AM
then eleanor60 correctly backed Ian Johns to cash and cash he did

He will go onto Day 4 with 315,000 chips
07-08-2018 , 08:00 AM
that_pope was Thinking Poker player Andrew Brokos would cash and he did

Here he is in a different event this year.
He moves onto Day 4 with 89,600 in chips
07-08-2018 , 08:03 AM
Our final correct answer was given by TChan who picked Kenny Shei

Here's a picture of him from 2014

He only has 22,600 in chips so he'll have some work to do on Day 4
He has fewer than 4 big blinds but it's enough to get TChan 1 point
07-08-2018 , 08:05 AM
With 4 different correct answers and 3 people picking Maria Ho it means that 7 points will be added to the score of everyone who was incorrect.

I'm pretty sure Andrew Brokos didn't cash per his Twitter.

07-08-2018 , 11:10 AM
I'm guessing you were using the beginning of Day 3 chip counts instead of end of Day 3.

Beginning Day 3: http://www.wsop.com/pdfs/reports/164...S-BY-CHIPS.pdf

End of Day 3: http://www.wsop.com/pdfs/reports/164...S-BY-CHIPS.pdf

I'll do a quick glance at the ones that were listed as correct.

James Obst - Correct
End Day 2: 224,300
End Day 3: 615,000
You got his count correct.

Ian Johns - Correct
End Day 2: 55,400
End Day 3: 201,000
You got him cashing correct, but chip count wrong.

Andrew Brokos - Wrong
End Day 2: 89,600
End Day 3: None
Had his chips wrong as start of Day 2 stack.

Kenny Shei - Wrong
End Day 2: 22,600
End Day 3: None
Had his chips wrong as start of Day 2 stack.

I'm guessing what happened is you didn't use the end of the day reports and instead the chip count page on WSOP.com before it was updated removing everyone who busted, which is why people who busted early in the day like Shei and Brokos weren't caught by the reporting staff and had stagnant chip counts all day.
