My point is, what makes you think that if she won't answer certain questions that have been asked in her 'well' that she would all of a sudden come on our program and tell the world everything she previously wanted to keep to herself? We have the integrity to ask the questions, but we also have the common sense to realize that if she is unwilling to answer them, it doesn't make sense to badger someone. That is what I was LOL'ing about.
Yeah, guests only take that hard-liner tone seriously when it's on a show w/ regular investigative pieces, like 60 Minutes. And 60 Minutes only gets those sources to talk usually because of some kind of leverage (i.e. not commenting will make them look like even more of an assbag, especially after 4 other sources have the opposite viewpoint).
Pokercast has a format w/ relatively light editing, doesn't seem like there's a ton of cuts. The show would lose its format if they went with the hard line of questioning. The reason why so many of those TV interviews w/ tough questions are heavily cut is because there's a lotta awkward, boring moments.
Example: Last week's interview w/ Cates was a real sleeper despite the best efforts of the hosts. Could you imagine how quickly an interview like that would tank if they really needled him? (Got mad respect for Cates, dude's just not a great interview.)
Also, people tend to open up and be more interesting when they don't feel defensive. Not only does that make for a better interview in most cases, it also happens to be a lot more interesting to me, who listen for entertainment.
Lastly, if I wanted to listen to something serious like 60 Minutes, well, I'll just hit "back" on my MP3 player, and scroll over to that podcast instead.
I guess they could go for the BillO Reilly format too, but BillO has a rule about sexually harassing his producers, and I'm not sure Bunner's down for that. Then again, he could use the settlement money to reach SNE.
