Call up Laak http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...icture-846307/

I'm sure the painkillers will make the interview that much better.

Would love to hear someone from PTR on the show. PTR is filling the void where both regulators and poker media should stand. Kahnawaukee Gaming and Card Player aren't helping to keep the games safe. They just serve as industry shills.

My opinion of PTR has done a 180 during the recent scandals. Though there is much downside to the existence of a PTR, they have done as good a job as any poker entity in aligning their interests with those of winning players and they are doing the best job at investigating the honesty and security of games.

That they now get attacked by the sites (see Lee Jones' comments) means that they're clearly doing some good. Having a PTR rep as a guest also affords Mike and Adam a chance to show a little independence from their sponsor as Stars has shown an adversarial relationship with PTR.

It would make for a great show and present Adam and Mike an opportunity to ask tough questions in exploring all the ways in which sites like PTR affect the games. The conversation would also be a good vehicle through which one could explore the UB/AP & Cake security issues and the recent problems (DoN collusion, Stoxtrader, LHE colluders, etc.) at Stars.

Let's hear their story. Start by asking them if they keep Lee Jones head on a pike outside the office or in the lobby?

segment idea:

A day in the life of a poker cohost... what goes into producing a show, how many hours work, how do you decide on guests / segments, - how do you decide what goes into the final mix and what doesn't - have you ever made any big gaffs during recording, that kind of thing

Hey guys I follow every show.

I just came across an article covering some drama at an FTOPS event. Apparently someone's screenname on FT was "FTOPS XVII HERO" and made the final table. After some looked him up in a poker DB he had no tourney history. Some think he may be multiaccounting even though "he played horribly." Was wondering if you guys could speak about it on the Pcast? thanks

here is the link: http://news.bluffmagazine.com/ftops-...winners-14912/

He also posts on p5s forum under a similar name just with underscores....

What's up peeps!

I'm new to the forum but a long time listener. I loved the Alan Boston interview. He was so blunt and to the point never beating around bush.

What's up Boston Al!?!?

Thanks schrute. We had McManus on to talk about his great book, right around New Years. Was fairly recently. Mercier has been on twice(once was storytime), 1st time was 2009 WSOP. I didn't know Brad Booth was ever drunk when we had hiim on?

+1 that a rep from PTR would be awesome

I'd love for Negreanu to reappear at some point to talk about his experiences/thoughts on the high-stakes NLHE action and where he feels that HSNL regs he plays compare to the action in Bobby's Room.

Interviewing the guy who had 1 chip remaining at this year's WSOP would be very cool also.

Can you get Neil Channing on plz.
Dealt to him this week at GUKPT Leg 6, Luton. He is currently 1st of 3 in the main event. Nice score (£64k, $100k) if he takes it down.

If you do get him on, please ask him why he wouldn't let us colour up his small chips, so he could have the biggest physical stack.

We would have Neil on every damn week if he would agree. The tricky thing is getting him to answer an email!

In your most recent Pokercast, you again made a passing reference to the PokerStars DON collusion issue, though the main topic was Cake Poker Security.

The collusion issue remains unresolved, and there is a new twist. There have been so many colluders or suspected colluders from the cities of Wenzou, China and Da Nang, Vietnam that some regulars in the DONs are turning that to their advantage.

Those regulars are now listing one of those cities as their location, so that good players who are aware of the scandal will see the city name, see the player as a possible colluder, and avoid playing against that player.

Wow. Awesome. Poker is such a weird ecosystem.

You can email Stars support and they will make the player put in the proper location.

I always wonder about this. I didn't have the option to put in a location, it was based off my postal code.

That is one of the issues being discussed in the Chinese DON Collusion thread, and even with the city name issue are there are twists to the story.

Some of the suspected colluders have made very small changes in their city names, such as inserting a blank space in the middle. I assume that this is to fool software that Stars might be running to check groupings of players from the same city all getting online at the same time from the same city location.

Another problem is that Stars evidently allows people that don't live in a metropolitan area to put the name of the nearest big city. IMO this is a loophole big enough to drive a truck through at the same time Stars is (sort of) trying to enforce the rule requiring players to show their actual location.

Frankly random checks of user names would show how widely the city rule is ignored. Unless their are really cities named No Chat or Wherever I Want. Players often list their state/province/country instead of their city as well.

By the way, there are sometimes complaints about "North Pole" as a location. It's a real city, I have been there, and I can verify that reindeer live there. I did not see any elves.

can you guys talk to Pokerstars Steve about WCOOP sats and if there are gonna be options to exchange Step 4 tickets to WCOOP $215 tickets and then add-on own cash to make it a $320 ticket.

Guess I'm saying to grill him on every aspect of how to qualify for WCOOP events.

maybe someone can come on and discuss the new 2p2 Harrington and Robertie book, Harrington on Online Cash Games?

Jimmy Sommerfeld or someone else from the WSOP Circuit Events? Unless, ofc, you think they're too busy with the Horseshoe Council Bluffs events, which started yesterday.

I don't have good ideas very often, but I think this is one of them.

You should try to snag either Joseph Menn (the author) or Barrett Lyon (the protagonist) of this book:

Fatal System Error: The Hunt for the New Crime Lords Who are Bringing Down the Internet

At the suggestion of another poster, I just read this thing and it's pretty frightening. The first 1/2 of it talks about the early years of online sportsbetting and poker sites, and how hackers successfully extorted pretty much every major betting site for millions of dollars. Author discusses the birth of Party Poker (incl bits on Ruth Parasol), and the UB/AP scandal, mentioning Witteles and Josem by name. It's a pretty frightening read, all things considered, and truly sickening that the bad guys have had so much success in profiting from this. They may not be using guns and bombs, but they're stealing hundreds of millions just the same and it's sad that our justice system doesn't punish them to the same extent as armed robbers.
