You guys should let a different Two Plus Twoer do the opening each week. Have a Thread with peoples best opening then pick a inner to call in at some point and they can do the opening. Ex Back from a long night at the hospital with Bunner and Eastgate after they blew 1.2 on blow and hookers......Adam and Mike

Uhh...how about Matt Savage?

Get Phil Hellmuth and Scotty Nguyen. I would especially like to hear you guys question Scotty on his hideous behavior at this year's horse final table.

ETTIQUETE!!!

Tony G is a good suggestion as long as we get the "on your bike Russian" guy on with him.

Can we get 'The Croc' on aswell.....just to ask him questions on cash game/poker etiquete?

Phil Hellmuth to teach kids on how to properly berate the recreational players (who happen to be better than him)

cant do the LA Poker Classic unless you got the skrilla to fly some cheep Canadians into LA and put them up in a flop house ;-p

All joking aside we aren't set up to do that much traveling. Mike is busy running his empire, Adam has a young family and a wife who would miss him too much, and we just don't have the budget to travel unfortunately. Matt Savage and I spoke recently, we did talk about having him on the show in the near future; probably in 2009 at this stage since most of the rest of the year is booked up. Looking forward to it Matt!

I am 99.999% positive that TonyG wont come on the Pokercast, there are significant behind the scenes issues between our companies. Sorry about that :-(

some of those are excellent. Looks from the archives like he may have stopped doing them in July of this year.

Kathy Liebert

There are some of us out here who read/hear the stories about staking, someone selling pieces so that he's only playing for 1/5 of himself, and various players who have action or last-longer bets on themselves and on each other during tournaments.

We read those stories, and don't think it's the way to go. We play what we can afford to play, we don't borrow or try to get staked. I have actually turned down an unsolicited staking offer that I received by PM.

I am building an online bankroll on PokerStars. I am also doing the start-from-nothing thing, attempting to build a live bankroll by playing a once a week freeroll in my city.

The reason I would love to hear Kathy Leibert is that she did it almost exactly the same way. She is a live grinder. She played only the live tournaments that she could afford, saved and invested her winnings, and worked her way up. She many be staked now, as a pro, but she sure didn't start out that way.

For those like me who are making the long, difficult journey up the poker ladder without going into debt in any way, Kathy Leibert's story is one that needs to be heard.

Besides all that, speaking as a former radio broadcaster, from a broadcast point of view she comes across as friendly, charming, intelligent, and articulate--a dream interview for any broadcaster.

Kathy Liebert is officially my poker hero.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but a few years back when I played with her a few times she was far from any of these things. She whined constantly about bad beats, telling other players how bad they were and was generally the most miserable player at the table.

I get the feeling that she is not that way as much anymore, and in fact when I did play at the same table as her in Niagara this year she was totally different.

To be honest, my earlier experience made me basically never bother to try and get her on the last four years. Might be a good time now that she seems to have changed.

Mark Blade author of, Professional Poker, the essential guide to playing for a living.

Mark Blade was the valedictorian of his high school, has a B.A from UCLA and an M.B.A from USC's prestigious Marshall School Of Business. After attaining his M.B.A he did what any other young man who was highly-educated and hotly pursued by the corporate world would do. He spurned all job offers and decided to play poker full-time insteadd. Having made his living from poker for over 10 years, he decided to share every thing he has learned from his experience so that other could enjoy the same dream life he has had.

I agree with the calls in this thread, and/or (?) the year-end thread to get Russ Fox. However, someone suggested that he come on in March (US tax returns are due on or about April 15, depending on whether that day falls on a weekend).

I would suggest getting him as early as possible. In the US get our form W2 (which shows our income) sometime in January, and file our taxes shortly thereafter. So it would great if you could get him at the earliest possible date. By the way, the closer you get to the last minute rush around April 15, the harder it will be for Russ to get free.

One last word--I am "going pro", playing poker full-time, in 2009. Mr. Fox has been very helpful as I make sure that I have my records all set to go for the tax implications for this decision.

Once again i will nominate Phil Galfond. He must be one of the most popular 2p2 regulars.

Chris gave me his cell phone during the summer, we were all scheduled to have him on the show but when I called his cell it was suddenly disconnected. When I saw him a few days later he was so out of it due to exhaustion that I felt bad talking to him about it again, I haven't seen Moneymaker since that time :-( Possibly during the next WSOP, if Mike and Adam ask me to make it happen I will.

the Pokercast is a worldwide phenomenon, with the exception of the legality of poker we try to avoid USA specific topics hence taxes probably would not be a good show for us. Besides, Mike and Adam are Canuks! Russ is a great guy, I have played with him a bunch over the past 3 years, but I suspect we are going to have to pass on having him on the show.
