Whats the pokerstars head up password?

I just spent two and a half hours on my computer to save $10. I think that's about what my time is worth.

I assume it's the amount of money I make, or possibly could make, divided by the amount of free time I want to spend awake?

[or should I sell my nights to a sleep research centre?]

Sorry to hear lads about stars cutting the sponsorship string. Hope you guys find a new one and that the show lives on! The value you guys bring to the poker community is very high and appreciated. I wonder if a company like twitch or the GPL would be down to sponsor the show?

Cheers guy and, Adam, how much ya go?

Found the staking conversation really interesting from the current episode (probably need to listen through again to follow all the math - Terrance showing how smart he is by grasping it straight away).

I have always felt there were issues with mark up percentages, although you are hopefully paying for the plus ev and players do have expenses such as hotels to cover.

So I was looking to see what players were charging for mark up for the main event as this is the one where it's said the biggest value is held.

On YourStake one fairly well know pro is selling 75% at 1.8 - so if he sells all 75% he is effectively making $3500 if he does not cash? What are your thoughts on this?

In addition surely this means he would be ultra aggressive on the bubble which is some cases is a good idea but not always? I think the min cash last year was 15k - so if he has 25% of himself and min cashes he would win $3750 but if he does not cash he gets the $3500 anyway - so he is much better off shoving / calling any 2 to double and hopefully go deep rather than scrape into the money as a short stack.

If this mark up was his perceived edge in the tourney and he was selling 25% this would be much less of an issue, but selling 75% seems fraught with danger for the investors (he has only sold 5% to one player so far, so maybe everyone sees this as a bad deal!)

In spite of what you think you may hear from reputable sources, I can confirm that Adam has now left the show.

His seat during the show may look as if there is somebody sitting in it but there is nobody there.

What's up guys, been listening to the show for about 2 1/2 years and I love it. Hope you find a new sponsor soon and can keep things going. I'm primarily a no limit live MTT player, but always enjoy the discussions about online play and PLO games. Like many other fans I look forward to the Ross report, and after listening the the show for a while I've come to know and love most of the more frequent "drops" Ross hits us with.

It's WSOP time and that means crowded poker rooms and casinos - so I thought I'd share some higher level thoughts on something of great value to every poker player - the quality of public restrooms. Let's do some comparisons:

Brand new Cadillac – the Wynn. These always smell like sunshine and roses. On my last Vegas trip I actually witnessed some guy walk in, take a sniff and look around, and say “NICE”.
2012 Honda Accord – Reliable but showing some wear – most of the facilities at the nicer casinos.
1985 Dodge Dart – Ellis Island casino, just a block or two off the LV strip. It’s part of the place’s charm – it’s a small casino with only one set of restrooms and that whole half of the building smells like a urinal cake factory. Thankfully they brew the beer in the other half of the building.
1972 Ford Pinto – The restrooms at the train and bus stations in most major cities.
Rounding out the list is “The Worst Toilet In Scotland” from the movie Trainspotting.

Keep up the great work guys!

So. I found THE most amazing cash game ever. In a casino. In mexico.
Blinds are 25/50. Pesos. ~US$1/2. Seriously.
It's awesome.
Most players vpip is abve 50%.

Thing is, they limp everything. AA is a limp. KK is a limp. 7c3c is a limp. There's no raise as a bluff, ever. They VB TP on a 4 flush board w/o flush.
Rake is 5%... ok.

Now , the weirdest mother ****ing thing is that everyone buy-in for 10BB .. yes. 10 mother ****ing bb's.

So , how in hell am i suppose to set-mine, or 3bet light ( when everyone who limped will call 100% of the time) ... i thought.... ummmh let's wait for big hands... so after getting my KK craked by J4o, my set of 77 killed by a runner runner flush i decided to play the game, the local game: limp every mother ****ing hand, the suited ones above all but not much went my way.

So, in that situation, wtf am i suppose to do? Play 7/5 ?
Never 3bet ? Of course after a while there are a few stack at 40bb ... but still ... guy calls a shove w 89s ... YES i love it.... but then everyone at the table goes : u called the all in? I CALL TOO ... So even when you shove AA ( which i didn t get after 169hands yet ) u get called in 5 spots .... I'm here to ask for help. nota bene: not playing for the $ , just for the fun of it, but still.

I crush anyone at the table over 100k hands. But since we play 10hands/ 40minutes... it's a tough one. Seriously, they've seen me fold TPTK OTR face up, everyone was like "WTF!?!" And of course vilain shows 2 pair or RR str8 or what ever ...

So, anyone familiar with the 10bb buy ins ?!? Plz , any advice ? Muchas gracias.

Quick question guys,

I saw that in the tag team event when heads up, Fee and Polk cheered extensively after Dough called a river bluff raise with K9 on K high board (bluffer had A high). The commentator said something to the effect that they might get a penalty for extensive celebrations. My question is, what would be the penalty in a situation like this when playing HU? Would they literally have to just give up chips (effectively "sitting out")?

Cheers guys!

I liked the discussion from this week's podcast, (Danielle Anderson episode #417) regarding which day to start the main event. Since we will be coming to a close of the WSOP main event, I wonder if it would be possible to look at the past few years final tables to see what their starting day was for the main event? I like the different theories on which starting day might be better. My personal thought is more recreational players play on the last starting day, so they don't have to pay extra money / vacation time from job, to play the main event.

Cheers!

T's fight prep update in next show please. "All in or knocked-out" style behind-the-scenes?

I just wanted to chime in regarding the change to the show length. I actually enjoy it! I rarely listened to the whole pokercast in one sitting anyway so a couple or three small chunks a week work out gr8 for me. Keep up the awesome work!

I too like the new format of more, shorter shows and hope you can continue them in the future. If you 3 can mesh your schedules to continue the increased frequency it would be outstanding!

Hi guys,

Just looking to pick your brains. I am thinking of taking up live poker full time. First of all , do you have any advice on where the best 2/5 5/10 action would be in Canada( preferably games that are 24/7 and run through the week aswell as weekdays. I am thinking of splitting my time between Vegas for 6 months, but need another spot for 5 months. Thanks

wtf is GTO. I have been away from poker and 2p2 since 2011, now I am back and listening to multiple podcasts everything is GTO. When did this drop into conversation and what does it really mean.

From Google I assume game-theory optimal.

The new Pokercast format has given us less minutes, hence, less content than normal in the last 2 weeks. Missing about 1 1/2 hours of content here. lol just say'n.
Missing the old 2 1/2 to 3 hour pokercasts!

Was wondering if T could explain abit about how to get any use out of a GTO program. Any real life example would be great.

What spots are we looking for?
Putting in your own exact hand, in the range builder, and then your opponents full range, to find a GTO route?

Hey guys,

First of all, compliments go to all of you. You do great work for the poker community.

Anyway, it's sad to say it, but my time in the poker industry has come to an end; and with that, my listening to the Pokercast has also ended (I have listened to you guys since the Lederer Files, so many episodes!)

I've been playing poker since 2006 and i have just come to this sudden realization over the last few days. Reasons for quitting are:

1: NL Holdem is nowhere near as profitable as it used to be. It is rare to find those awesome donks that used to practically give their money away. Sadly, you just don't see this anymore.

2: Black Friday really killed poker in my opinion. This goes hand in hand with my first point. America was awesome for bringing in a lot of new players, now that doesn't happen anymore.

3. I just don't enjoy poker anymore. Being an Australian, waking up at 4am was never fun. Spending your days off work mostly bricking tourney after tourney was even worse.

And with that, my final speech.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. My cards on fire as i won my very first Sunday Million off the shoulder of Orion. I watched fish glitter in the dark as i destroyed them near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time...like tears in rain...Time to die..."(Blade Runner)

This is a sad moment, but i know i have made the right decision, and look forward to what the future holds for me. Anyway, good luck in all of your future endeavors. I'm off to find my next one.

All the best,

petesgotaces
