That's a fun idea

I really enjoy the moments where Adam says "head up" or "head heads up" and all other variations where he tries to correct on the fly his inclination to say "head up" instead of "heads up". I can see a sound byte reel coming in future like the "er er er" reel of MJ.

In Las Vegas, Bolder Station poker room spreads Omaha Hi Limit $4/8 with a kill of $8/16. I liked Terry's advice on what hands to nit it up with. Currently am break-even after two sessions but this new advice might just be what I need ... or not! (Episode 399).

Would be interested in hearing about Terrance's view of sleeping with a white noise machine. I live in NYC and it's often difficult to sleep with sirens etc waking you up throughout the night. Is there anything bad for your brain about sleeping with a white noise machine?

Sorry for the random questions but thought it was something Terrance might have some insight about.

Thanks!

Yo Terrance what do you think of this ? Its the hypothetical Boxer vs MMA thing which caused a debate in the pub the other day. As someone who follows neither Boxing nor MMA, apart from watching the odd mega fight, if they fought MMA what are the odds for this ( the line thing is too confusing for Brits - odds work well )

Sorry if this is tedious if you are into MMA, must be like people asking me if i bluff a lot/am good at reading people ( note i am not), love the show yadda yadda.

Fury vs McGregor on bbc.co.uk if the link doesnt work

Guys
I need help....
I need to improve my online cash games.

I've been playing for at least 7 years, listening to the pokercast for almost as long.
My tournament results have but me in profit but cant help blowing off in cash games. (sit n go's as well) I think most of this is in my head. when sitting to play tournaments ect I know im in for the long haul, whereas i try to rush cash and make things happen.
Never used a hud and don't think its something that would suit me.

Can you tell anything from statistic, here are mine since October last year.
Hands won 15%
showdowns seen 55%
Flops seen 32%
Flops won 36%

Actions; Fold 52%, Check 22%, Call 10%, Bet 9%, Raise 7% Re Raise 0%
when fold; Pre flop 68%, flop 7%, Turn 3%, River 2% No fold 20%

What should these be?

Other than Playing Omaha, do you have any suggestions on what I can do to improve.
should I just stick to one game type? Play Normal or Zoom? Not be so aggressive? Give people the benefit of having something once in a while and not calling off? How do I review hands?
so many questions

Oh one more thing.....

How about getting John Beauprez to sponsor a Omaha league, Maybe one of the pokercast events a month could be Omaha and count towards a league. You could even just play it on free money and give the Americans a chance to win.

Oh one more one thing.....

Forgot what it was now.

Hy Guys,

I heard that you are having Alan Boston back again to talk about this year's NCAA bracket. I love how he "loses it" when talking about the corrupt aspects of the selection process. Could you please ask him about what he thinks of the snubbing of Monmouth and St. Bonaventure, while Syracuse, Michigan and Tulsa were arguably controversial invites.

I also miss how MJ was often intimidated by Mr. Boston. Perhaps you could give MJ a call during the guest segment?

Thank you. Love the show.

Great camaraderie for the three of you.

Some of the guest interviews get a bit long, but we do have the +15 sec option on the podcast, or move the slider. You also have 3 hours to fill, so it is understood.

Look forward to each week's espisode

Hey guys,

I just wanted to give a shout out to the "Alan Boston" cast.

As i'm in my early 20's i'm use to listening and watching your younger wizards like timex , galfond isildur etc etc etc...

I still think the so called veterans are fantastic to listen to. I like their no BS approach and they say it how it is without any sugar coating. I also have a tremendous amount of respect for how they kept ahead of the curve without technology.

Keep up the good work chaps.

Just out of interest have you ever had Erik Seidel on the show?

I dunno if it would be his kind of thing, but listening to him for an hour will increase listeners intelligence by 65.9% imo.

take it easy guys.

Hi Adam and Terrence and Ross,
Some guys complain about the non-poker stuff, but I get a kick out of your stories, especially enjoying T's fight updates. I watched his last fight on youtube just for funsies.
My question is this: I play in an Indian Casino in Michigan, typically 1/2 NLHE cash games with some tournaments and a little PLO thrown in. I have been a small-time winner over the last two years or so (sick brag, right?!). A friend of mine said that I was doing really well to be beating the rake in a 1/2 game. They rake 10% with a six dollar max out of every pot. I'd like to do a Vegas trip and I am curious if you think the small stakes games in Vegas are more or less beatable on average than the games you find in other parts of the continent?
Do you agree with my friend's assessment that it's hard to beat the rake at this level?

Thanks for the great work. By the way I love the Roscoe Report. I really like to hear you guys break down PLO hands. I'd love to hear more hands each week.

P.S. My wife just asked if I was going to send you guys pics of my junk. I think I'm just a fan but she thinks I have mancrushes.

I am in the camp that live poker needs to be more fun. How about a segment on the next show asking the listeners to send in their ideas to make poker more fun. I am a firm believer that talking to new players and making it more enjoyable will do better for the game (and our pockets) in the long run. The days of wearing a hoodie, earphones and not chatting are ruining live poker.

I also believe that the high rakes for tournaments and the multiple rebuys for most tournaments has a negative long term impact on the game.

Hi crew, im a new listener of 5 weeks and have listened to 15 episodes i guess so not sure if you have ever covered this topic. But i would love a discussion on Small stakes Plo Tournament strategy ($2-5 buy ins) to help build up my bankroll to play higher plo cash (10-25 cent). I have played three $2 buy in tournaments and finished in the top 10% twice by limping all hands pre-flop as nobody folds when pot is raised pre flop and i find i get a few situations where i can double or triple my stack when opponents over value hands post flop. i dont want to be the guy who limps all the time early in tourneys but it seems effective at the moment. Any thoughts?

Ben

Adam and Ross, have you considered bacon roses?

Make them and report the awesome on the show. Pretty sure TChan isn't going this unhealthy.

Hi pokercast crew, Im a massage therapist and have a keen interest in ergonomics while playing poker and sitting is not the best for various reasons for long periods of time. Im considering a standing desk set up, a lying down version with a screen attached to the ceiling or a saddle chair that requires the use of your core muscles (as the stem wobbles around). Im interested in the unique home poker set ups of the cast and the listening community may have in this regard whatever their drive is.

As I travel around for my job during the week I enjoy your podcast. It always seems to bring some laughs to my day. We have the same thoughts and sense of humor, which isn't necessarly a compliment.

From the last episode, the comments made by Adam about QB1 bar game brought back some great memories. It gave my buddies and I an excuse to go out to watch the MNF games and have a few beers. It made Tuesday's a tough day at work since the games ran late and usually we were hungover.

I do have a few suggetions for the possible new segment "How much would it take?". First, I was really grossed out that you would use a toothpick found on the ground near a dumpster for only $500. For my job, I've learned that sharing razors, toothbrushes, etc. with someone who is infected with hepatitis c, can get you infected. It is Hepatitis awareness month here in the states, and hepatitis is transmitted via blood to blood contact. On to my three how much would it take delimas.

1. How much would it take you to dine at the new London restaurant Bunyadi, it's an all nude restaurant? http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/03/foodan...unyadi-london/

2. How much would it take you to never use a cell phone again (yours or anyone elses)?

3. Since we are in the middle of the Stanley Cup playoffs, how much would it take for you to never watch another game of hockey for the rest of your life? Adam, this would also mean never watching your son play another game of hockey.

Great show and keep the laughs coming.

A rake tournament.

Instead of blinds and antes going up, every pot is raked to some Californian level, the players are left to fight over the ever dwindling chip supply.

Hello Adam, Terrence, and Ross,

After listening to the show last week and hearing you guys talk about how cool it is to experience Vegas with a first-timer, I figured I would write in as somebody who is traveling there for the first time in a few weeks. As somebody who has never gone to Vegas before, I am looking for some advice as to what rooms are enjoyable to play in outside of the Rio. I am mainly looking to play tournaments, just looking to have a good time and experience as many different casinos as I can. I am not concerned with trying to chase a big score (other than playing the $1500 6 max WSOP event) more so trying to have a good time and play as much poker as I can for the week.
Are there any particular casinos you guys would recommend as a “must see” or even any that you would suggest staying away from? I saw Binions and Golden Nugget have a couple of good 6-max tournaments that seem like good prep for playing the WSOP 6 max, but I don’t often hear these casinos get spoken of. Am I crazy to think that maybe the fields will be softer playing at places like that instead of the more mainstream spots?
Thank you guys for all that you do, love the show.

PS- I think I may have been the first person to mention how far they are from Kells… a solid 3,045 miles.

Hey guys,

Love the show. You are a constant companion when I am in my car.

A bit late to the party on this one, but... a few shows ago an e-mail asked for the best Poker first name. You guys quickly said: That's easy, Phil, citing Hellmuth, Ivey, Galfond, Laak. Well that got me thinking and I believe that Dan can give Phil a run for his (their) money.

I looked up player winnings as best I could on high stakes db, various player profiles, and Hendon Mob, using the 5 of the top Phils and Dans. Here's the results:

Ivey 31.7MM, Hellmuth 18.8, Gruissam 10.0, Galfond 8.9, Laak 2.2 Total Phils 92.0

Negreanu 31.3, Colman 25.3, Cates 13.5, Smith 12.9, Shak 8.1 Total Dans 93.1

Agreed this is far from perfect research... but anyone got something better??

Anyway, keep up the good work!!!

Bob B (5,143 miles from Kells)

Hi Guys,

much like Adam I'm rapidly approaching the qualification requirements to play in the Seniors event at the WSOP. I'm thinking that buying a ticket from Melbourne to Vegas to play this event may in fact be a great way to celebrate the big Five-0.

As a long time micro-stakes player on Stars and having read a few poker books (eg Harrington's series) I think I have a grasp of the basic tournament and game strategy.

Could you perhaps give some thoughts/advice on how I might get my game to a point where I'd at least be competitive in the Seniors event.

Love the show.
Thanks ~ Steve

Hey guys whats up,

Just a quick question.... what is your single fondest memory you've experienced as professionals in the poker/gambling industry? Did you have a single moment that stands out where you were like, "****... this is awesome".

and for Ross: whats your VPP count this year? still good chance you'll make SN this year? Hey man, that means you can apply for team online! #shipit

love the show, cheers guys.

ps: please bring back how much you got and stripper trivia, both awesome games!

What's up, boyz?

Over the past two years, I've been playing a lot of PLO and PLO8 online (on Bovada), and I think my game is getting good enough to try a live tourney soon, perhaps even at the WSOP.

However, I just realized that there are two key things that I never have had to deal with in the online game that I suddenly have to figure out live: 1) looking at four cards (and remembering them), and 2) knowing how to bet "pot".

How do you guys usually look at your cards? Do you wait until they are all dealt to you and then squeeze all four at once? Right now, I'm guessing that if I lift up all four cards to my chest, it'll be a dead giveaway that I'm a newbie fish. Also, do you have any tricks for how to remember what you have so you don't have to peek back at the cards on later streets?

Regarding pot size bets, I've never had to worry about calculating "pot" b/c Bovada automatically does that for me. But what's the actual formula for calculating the pot, especially pre-flop? I don't always want to bet pot, but I do want to have a better grasp of what the limit is so that I don't embarrass myself too much.

Thanks for the advice...
