Just started listening about two years ago, and the host of the show, "Mike" seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I'm really surprised that he says he is such a poor poker player. Modesty?

I guess that other guy, "Adam" is just too used to concealing his hole cards to really let loose and give helpful and educational information. As the "expert commentator", I think he could do alot more. No disrespect intended. I actually enjoy listening to him on the podcast. In his favor... he does add some insight about the stakes I don't play, and a bit of insider information about the poker business.

My wife likes you Adam.....

I don't think Adam has ever claimed to be a tournament expert.

Bart Hanson did a strategy epidose interviewing Adam on "Deuce Plays/Cash Plays" (forget which one) on the topic of LHE.

Well, you have to understand the concept of the show is to bring in the really smart poker players and have them give advice.

We enjoy talking about current poker issues, the forums at Twoplustwo, and the personalities that surround the game of poker so why try and be something we are not? There are some very good instructional podcasts out there that focus only on poker concepts.

If that's what you're after, I would suggest you start with Bart Hanson's. It's very good.

She's obviously the brains behind the operation

Another +1 for the funny intros.

And (supporting a fellow Brit) can we make 'Story time with Neil Channing' a permanent feature? Please?

Great show as always guys.

I'm happy you decided to discuss the profitability of live tournament poker.

"Foxwoods, the eastern equivalent to the Bellagio" Mike....... I think the Borgata is the equivalent. Foxwoods is at the Taj Mahal level of a dump.

I would not play on a Anonymous player site.... I want to know who I'm up against.

Bring back the funny intro.

Good show.

How is Foxwoods a dump? They have a huge poker room and plenty of sick action, what more do you need?

I really wasn't referring to the poker room or casino at Foxwoods itself at all. I've actually never seen it. Just comparing the tournament series field sizes, buy-in's and it's overall level of importance on the live US tournament poker landscape a couple years ago vs. now.

Ok, you're right... but move the room out of the basement... High ceiling rooms like Mohegan Sun and Borgata are preferable.... Taj is a legit dump.

Fantastic show guys. Entertaining and informative. It makes grinding micro mtts almost tolerable listening to your show. Thanks.

Foxwoods has that one section that is below a skylight which is really nice. I think it’s the only poker room that has outside light which helps you not go crazy after a 30hr session. Borgota is my favorite on the east coast for sure though.

O8 Invitational is in the lobby now -- T# 205560484

Feel free to record any amusing hands and PM me the files and/or hand histories. I'm going to try to compile a highlight reel of confused deadbeats.

I had decided not to post what I am about to until I read this. I love the podcasts listened to all of them and the rounders the radio show ones so am hesitant posting this, but with this one I did at least once think 'Jeez Mike! Let Adam talk....!' Like I said love the show, but if I had just listened to this one I think I would have thought Adam didnt speak much..... Sorry

edit - no one else other than maybe the guy I quoted seemed to notice so must be just me...

Other than that love the podcasts cheers for your hard work

I was just really passionate about this weeks topic so I took care of Adam before the show.

Been hoping for O8 for a while. This has to happen again please. In London, Pats v Buccaneers are playing at Wembley at the same time...

Another good show overall. Sheets had an a lot of intersting things to say but he should really relax and take a breath once in awhile. It got to be hard to listen to him at a mile a minute pace, especially compared to Neil Channing who seems like a natural on air.
I ,too, missed the witty intro, it's a trademark of the show and definitely needs to be brought back.

Great show again guys. I look forward to the show every week.

Sheets, a man of few words?

Don't get me wrong, Sheets is very smart and obviously is in the thick of the poker world. It is just at times, I just found it funny because I would try to think back to the original question and couldn't find out how we got to where he was in the conversation.

I also vote for the funny intros. As another poster wrote, don't fix it if it ain't broken.

And what happened to the "ring announcer" voice from a few months ago? I kinda liked that.
10-23-2009 , 12:24 AM
100% bring back the witty intros, I definitely agree that it is a signature part of your show.

Another great episode - loved the interview with Sheets and the insight into all of the backing he does. And how seriously he takes it as a business which likely comes as a surprise to many of those he backs.

The Sheets interview was beyond good. Great job guys!

Sheets was great, one of the best interviews imo. He presents his opinions so clearly and lucidly, it's no surprise he's been at the top of the poker world for a long time.

Neil Channing was awesome too!
