2012 WSOP Fantasy League 2012 WSOP Fantasy League

04-20-2012 , 09:27 AM
It's getting to be that time of year again. Last year's WSOP Fantasy League went pretty well. I say that because I won.

Rules

1. I we get under 20 people, it'll be winner takes all. If we get 21-30 people, first place will get 70% and second place will get 30%. For 31 people and more first will get 70%, second will get 20% and third will get 10%

2. PM me your picks. Label it as "WSOP Fantasy" and I won't open it until I get my picks in, which I will post in this thread. You can change your picks up until picks are posted after the start of the first event by DMing me your latest team picks.

3. The first open event is Monday May 28 at noon PST. You MUST have your picks in by 11:59 AM PST on Monday May 28.

4. I will post all teams as soon as I am able to after the start of the first open event.

5. Score will be based on your team's combined WSOP player of the year points based on 2012 rules. If for some reason there is no 2012 POY point system then we will use the 2011 rules. All bracelet events count except for casino employee, women and senior.

6. This does not include WSOPE

Im in. Maybe rather than online player, which is pretty tricky to qualify, perhaps have an 'over 40' category or a 'non bracelet winner' category'

I'm in.

A few questions as this is my first time.

How much is the buy in? and how do we go about paying/collecting? Who will be in charge to update all the scoring?

Thanks.

Last year it was $20. I'm happy to keep it at that.

Last year people were able to either ship to me on Stars or to Chainsaw on paypal, but Chainsaw took months to pay out to the winner, so if people are ok with it, I'll take the Paypal. I think I earned the trust from last year.

I kept scoring last year on a google spreadhseet that was visible to all participants.

You're right, online player is becoming more and more difficult to determine.I like the non-bracelent especially. And maybe a category for 21 year olds as well. Are there enough?

So tough to determine who is 21 vs 22 and could lead to controversy if they have a b-day etc. Could do a young guns (25 and under) category quite easily and if you nominate someone that turns out to be over 25, you lose the points.

Could just set a date, like if you are 21 on the day the WSOP starts... But maybe a <25 and an >40 idea works. I'll put something together and propose it.

Sounds good. There's always one older dude (Kassela, Lisandro, Lunkin, Schneider etc.) that goes off and has a great series so it could be a fun category. And guessing which young guns are going to play mixed games and all events is tricky.

If anyone balks about AW (I'm sure he'll do just fine), I'm happy to do the escrow. Paypal or Stars, or even Interac email xfers for Canadians.

Great. I'll draw up the rules again and the list of categories. I'll do an age one (does anyone know where we can confirm ages?)

I was also thinking it would be good to do PS Team Pro, Team Online and Friends Of since there is no FTP anymore.

Thanks for the offer. If you're ok with it I like the idea of a mod handling money

You do. I'll post the rules this afternoon. Registration closes as soon as the first open event starts (casino employee doesn't count, unless Jamie Gold is working at O'Sheas)
