05-23-2012 , 10:45 AM
Live from the Two Plus Two Studios, May 22 2012 - World Series of Poker Preview This week on the Two Plus Two PokerCast, friend of the show Terrence Chan joins Mike and Adam in studio for their annual World Series of Poker Preview show. The guys discuss schedule, buy-in and venue size changes made to this year's WSOP including the addition of the highly anticipated $1 Million buy-in One Drop charity event. They connect with BLUFF Magazine's Editor in Chief Lance Bradley to preview the Player of the Year race and discuss changes made to how POY points are awarded. In the final segment Mike and Adam get a PokerStars Team Online representative on the line to help wrap-up the 2012 SCOOP and hear how Team Online did during the largest online poker tournament series to date. In forum static they draft their WSOP first bracelet players, unveil a new photoshop thread, update the next round of "Stand Up Comedy Madness" and of course give away the password for the May 27th Poker Stars VIP Club Invitational for PokerCast listeners.

Listened to first ~hr earlier, good stuff w/ tc in studio, had some good lols at your recounting of the bellagio robbery--tc's "these are the worst criminals ever, what did they bring a sack w/ a $ sign on it too?" was pretty great, and as soon as you mentioned "he only made it 10 yards" I was just waiting for one of you to pounce on the first-down joke, so nice payoff when mike finally went ahead and took the layup

Too little, too late. A week earlier, and we could have nominated them for the Comedian Madness contest.

Andrew Brokos had a good discussion on his blog about the Toby Maguire situation about a year ago: http://www.thinkingpoker.net/2011/06...-stolen-money/

I don't know enough about the specific case, but to be honest, i'm perfectly happy if courts weigh sacrificing the integrity of poker games alongside other issues in making judgments. I also think that the negative freeroll argument is deeply unconvincing in many situations.

The bubble removal scenario happened 2/2 Sunday $115s at Commerce to me. I thought it was +EV for me bc average stack was about 20BB at that point...and I don't want the bubble to bring avg stack to 15BB.

EDIT: You got to it. gg.

"Retiring" has worked well for Sean Deeb and Mike McDonald, so why is Terrence against it?

Re. Pressure around bubble deals great solution I experienced at Binions was giving each player a red and black card symbolising deal or no deal and players returned one face down to tournament director a single no and play carried on.

They made it very clear it was to be anonymous and no discussion and although I’m pretty sure everyone knew I was the one dissenter (only non local) the method and attitude of tournament director made it clear there should be no further pressure put on; was great

Even if there are multiple tables left sure each dealer could manage this and as soon as one table has a no play continues. Wouldn’t take many events with there always being at least one no before the practice is wiped out and bubbles just play as they should.

I can think of few finer examples of poetic justice than the misspelling of Shaun Deeb's name.

Yeah this has been done in Ireland for years and generally works well.
