TT fold was bad.

Yeah I agree, the 5x wasn't the worst. In a live donkament raises are still > online, probably 3x is more standard. It's a little big but it's no 10x.

Also, depending on the dynamics of the table the TT fold may not have been as bad as it seems. I mean, I'm obv snap shoving it every single time w/ 13BB, but if villain is opening a super narrow range, and for 5x, you lose all FE and are generally up against a hand that crushes you or a flip (assuming he's not opening 22-99). So it's whether you're happy to flip at best, or wait for a better spot where you can just open jam which gives you more FE etc.

For me personally I don't like the fold, but I can see merit as to why someone would fold.

What has Roman Polanski ever done for us?
02-16-2012 , 09:29 AM
Chinatown, for one. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

Highly recommend the HBO doc: Roman Polanksi: Wanted and Desired

I found it appropriate that I chose to listen to the Palansky interview "at the end of the day."

In re the 182nd hand at WPT Seminole Hard Rock final table, here are the stacks (according to the WPT updates):

Blinds at 20K/40K/5K
Seat 1. Matt Juttelstad - 3,075,000 (~77 BBs)
Seat 2. Gigi Gagne - 1,950,000 (~49 BBs)
Seat 3. Uri Kadosh - 2,410,000 (~60 BBs)
Seat 5. Sharon Levin - 815,000 (~20 BBs)
Seat 6. Todd Jacobson - 600,000 (15 BBs)

Kadosh raises UTG to 200K. Folds to Gagne, who calls in the BB.

Flop is KQ4. Gagne donks for 200K. Kadosh shoves. Gagne asks for a count then folds. Kadosh flashes the A

According to MJ's description, Jacobson must have been the guy who folded the TT. As for Kadosh's raise size, it was unusual for him. He had opened for 75K throughout the 15K/30K level. Kadosh also opened for t85K during the next few hands at 20K/40K, except where he was in a blind-on-blind situation with a shorty (in which he simply pushed). The hand above was his first at the 26th level, so I wonder if he just screwed up the arithmetic.

Great show, guys (as usual).

If I had time, I'd here contribute a limerick rhyming naïveté with macheTAY. And/or photoshop Mike & Adam riding pita triangles through the hummusphere.

For film connoisseurs (another French word, Mike - or if you prefer Spanish - aficionados), check out one of Polanski's early films before he left Poland: (English Title) Knife in the Water.

It may have been covered before, but would liked to have heard from Seth Palansky why the $1 million tourney is being capped at 48.

Some funny under-the-breath comments to listen for in this show:
1) During the discussion of "hummus-sphere," someone says, barely audibly, "or hummersphere"

2) When the tourney password is being given out, Adam's "down wit' A-P-P" to the tune of the Naughty by Nature classic made me chuckle.

Fantastic show as always guys.

However, the mention on every other show of "this is going to tilt our American listeners", or "sorry to our American listeners" about the fact that we can't play online poker is incredibly annoying. We know it. We live it. Why don't you guys try not playing for just 3 months? It sucks. We know it sucks. You don't have to keep reminding us. It doesn't hurt until you point it out. Now, if rubbing it in is what you're trying to do, mission accomplished. I don't think that's the case though.

You know what does tilt me though? Mike saying "relo-cate" instead of "re-locate" for all the players moving out of the US to play online poker tilts me every time. Maybe it's just a Canadian thing?

OK, I feel better now. I'm going back to freerolls on Carbon Polker now. Whooppee!

What looks like is happening is there are two different words with two different spellings and pronunciations, and Mike's way does seem to be chiefly British.

naivete (Adam's way):
listen to "naivete" pronunciation at dictionary.com
listen to "naivete" pronunciation at merriam-webster.com

naivety (Mike's way):
listen to "naivety" pronunciation at dictionary.com
listen to "naivety" pronunciation at merriam-webster.com

Although it seems safe to assume that Mike is wrong when there is a pronunciation dispute, in this case, they both seem to be correct, although Adam would sound correct by most people in North America. Mike seems to be influenced by years of watching Monty Python and Fawlty Towers.

I chuckle every time you guys say "process".
02-17-2012 , 12:17 PM
I chuckle every time Americans write the word "color".

a) I thought "Naïveté" was a word, and
b) I knew who Roman Polansky was, and
c) yes, I went to high school in the 80s at the same time as Mike and Adam

Loved the show, BTW. Great guest selection and WSOP 2012 news scoops. tyvm!
p.s. for upcoming show guest: Terrence Chan?

Do we have to listen to the DN commercial every week because all the other Stars commercials that Pros did are no longer with the site?
