Re: PokerCast Episode 142 - Dwyte Pilgrim, Reid Young & WCOOP Coverage

regarding the 8-game stalling "issue", it would probably be beneficial to just make the FT play a certain # of hands per game. A lot of the price pool is distributed at the FT so it does have an impact on finding a champion that plays all games well even if it doesn't prevent people from stalling through games in the pre-FT stages of the tourney.

Pilgrim tilts me just listening, can see why people want to get off the table as quickly as possible and just give him their chips.

Pokerstars dirty little secret:

Steve D. has been getting an incredible amount of mileage out of the internet meme TITS OR GTFO with the verification process for the ladies league. As a beta tester for PokerStars webcam software, Steve may actually be getting tired of all the breasts that he has been inundated by. We salute Steve for his continued dedication to the organization and appreciate him biting the bullet for all involved.

Ha ha, at about 1:46:30 "we're gonna make those boys come out and play preliminary events for the rest of the year, who ever wants to beat me they gotta start playin prelims. They was laughing at the prelims now they need the prelims, if they wanna have a chance." That comment was the nuts...

If I never hear Dwight Pilgrim again, it'll be too soon. I really wish the poker media would stop rewarding classless braggarts with airtime.

Re: PokerCast Episode 142 - Dwyte Pilgrim, Reid Young & WCOOP Coverage

Clock management in sports is really the wrong analogy for the 8game stalling. What he's doing is more like faking an injury so your team has time to rest up or something like that which is much more of an angle-shoot. Purposely stalling in 8game is really pretty unethical, having your QB take a knee isn't even remotely unethical or problematic, it's just the correct play in some situations.

re: the decathalon, WTF?! You still TRY to throw the shot put, if you're bad then oh well. If you're bad at 2-7 then try to play and accept you'll probably make a little less than in other games.

Saying this is "within the rules" is a stretch. If online there was a tournament director on-site, I'm not sure if this would be called "within the rules," it would be a judgement call.

While I agree with this in general, the man has results. He didn't just get air time cause he's loud.

I agree -- I put stalling in the same category as Jeter pretending to be hit by a pitch (legal play, but unethical). Clock management in basketball/NFL is like going into push-fold mode when shortstacked -- sure it takes away the "lets play pokah" factor, but it is a well established/accepted end game strategy.

i didn't say that ... you did.

I was referring to the fact that PH also has "results".
