Two Part Invitational Passwords Two Part Invitational Passwords

10-01-2009 , 06:48 PM
There was some discussion on the show about releasing invitational passwords in two parts:

First part on the show.

Second part on twitter, the forums, or elsewhere.

Do you think this will make the invitational more fun to play and cut down on the deadbeats? Is it too complicated? Do you have a better idea?

Discuss!

it would keep the russians out so im for it. Espn has a webcast that does this.

Place a part of the password in either a facebook fan page or twitter. I like how ESPN gives out there password

Can you guys be a bit more specific about how ESPN gives out their password? I'm not familiar with it.

twitter sucks, i dont mind facebook though

I heard in the show that the main reason two put half the password in one place and half elsewhere was to try to stop people leaking the password and letting non 2+2 members in the tourney.

If people are going to leak the password, they will do it regardless of it is released.

Saying that I'd keep it as it has always been at the end of the show.

Great show btw, loving these!

I agree. The password will leak regardless in how many parts it's being distributed.

The only solution would be some kind of "ticket" system. But I guess that is a little bit over the top.

I would change when MJ and AS name the password. It shouldnt be always at the end of the pokercast. Make them at least listen to the whole podcast.

Yep make it at a random time during the PokerCast. I never write it down when I listen to the PokerCast on Tuesday and I have no problem finding it 30mn before the tourney, I just fastforward to the end of the show.

I agree with the others. This won't stop people from posting it on forums. ESPN does it to get people following them on Facebook and Twitter.

I like the freeroll, and the show. and I hate to be a Bigus Dickus but maybe we need to charge $0.50
10-02-2009 , 03:28 PM
IYAM you should keep the invitational stuff as is.

Re: Two Part Invitational Passwords

No matter what is done, whoever gives out the password still will. Love listening to pokercast. I think password should be given out randomly, not at the end
10-03-2009 , 12:47 AM
I'd prefer the pw stay on the pokercast, but I agree that placing it randomly might help cut down on the problems. If people are going to leak it, and have the ability to listen to the show, they will likely also have the ability to check here and check twitter or facebook or wherever for a second part -- and that would take a lot less time than listening to the pokercast itself. So there's not much point in going to that extra trouble.

Is there any possibility that the pricemoney & bonusses are not payed out until confirmed pokercast listeners?
10-03-2009 , 06:45 PM
People who are going to leak the info will do so regardless of how pw is put out. This will just make it harder for your average listener to play in the tourny. Numbers prob will go down either way though

I listen to the 2 + 2 pokercast to get the pw

Please dont use Twitter for giving out half of the pw

I dont use Twitter so that'll leave me out of the freeroll, but the Russians will still find a way to steal the password.

there has to be a better way.

Try using difficult American words to spell (and dont spell them out) and give more clues throughout the broadcast.

thanks

I do not see the today's competition in PS lobby. why this is? lags behind? thanks

okay, i find _

mass email the 2nd part of the password, 30 minutes before the show to all those registered to receive the password.

if thae dam has a leak in it and you put your finger in it to stop at!!
your sure to keep on getting other leaks that cant be pluged. i think it should be emaild
to poker cast club members only and that is not a fix in the broken damm we have.
ITS HARD TO SAY BUT I WOULD KEEP IT THE WAY IT IS. it is better then it was
before we got to this point.........
10-04-2009 , 10:58 AM
I don't have twitter or facebook so i'd rather it was on the forum.

Not everyone has a Twitter and/or Facebook account. (I dont use them)

It is unfair to ask poker players to set these up in order to play the freeroll.

I think this is a very bad idea
