I don't remember Jamie Farr on Match Game much, he was more on Pyramid and Password. Gary Burghoff and Loretta Swit used to show up semi-frequently, though.

Can somebody clear this up for me...I always thought it was a past employee who cracked UB's security, and that new management reimbursed all players 100%.

Was there proof that UB was in on the scandal or is that just the general consensus among the community?

Great show! Guess I'm one of the 4 who was laughing at the Klinger reference!

the only thing i didn`t really liked about this weeks show, that it was soooooooooooooooooooo much about tournaments and pokerstars alone, probably only interesting if you are playing in a bunch of these, but w/e

awesome show this week guys, finally got to listen to it on one of my longer drives.

MJ: thanks for giving the Sharks props, you know i am pulling for the Canucks too. they still can turn it around, gotta take game#4 tomorrow, i will be watching while i play in the PCL.

Adam: i am thinking good thoughts for your brother, i hope he gets well soon.

Terrence: i am offering my services, i will trade you 1 hour of 1970s/80s sitcom trivia training for 1 hour of limit poker coaching

or i hope you at least watched one episode of MASH on youtube!

It is a a daily scandal of like 1$m of extra rake taken.

With that said, I dont play that much at UB/AP but I just like being objective and fair.

EDIT: But obviously this is expected since its a pokerstars sponsored show.
Phil Hellmuth Jr. is that really you?

Another good show. Scared me a bit with the UIGEA stuff -- did you intend to make people start thinking of withdrawing their rolls? I loved the MASH references. Terrence Chan did good as guest and commenter. Also enjoyed the discussion of the TV shows. Sklansky is bizarrely interesting. Am glad he only does a minute, tho.

The UB bashing was tough going -- even though I remain wary playing there. (I, too, am surprised that it has kept going -- and don't consider either Hellmuth or Duke such a draw, since it's not like they are around regularly and obviously. Or, maybe, it's that I'm not and so don't really know.) Nothing that has happened at FT or PS is even in the ballpark. Hopefully, nothing will be. PS, especially, seems very concerned and responsive to reports of possible collusion and troublemaking. Smart of them.

Best wishes to your brother, Adam. I hope he gets better amazingly fast.

You should be scared. I think there should be more coverage of this. I think there are far too many people who are just hoping everything will be business as usual after June 1st, but everyone (US players) should be thinking of what they would do in worst case scenarios. People should be contemplating pulling their rolls as one of their options. I know I am.

Have only listened to half of this pokercast so far (I play it going to and from work), but as usual I am loving it!

I see from the comments that Adam's brother is ill. I'm very sorry to hear that and I wish him a speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with you and your family, Adam!

Re Phil Gordon acting like a douche when he lost to Phil Laak at the NBC Heads Up Poker Championship: I'm not defending him (far from it), but I think his behavior was not a reflection of him being a petty person (per se).

The fact is that Phil Gordon's "brand" isn't very strong. People like Negreanu, Hellmuth and Duke (whether we love them or hate them) have very strong brands because of some combination of achievements, personalities and backstories. Phil "Go Go" Gordon has none of that. Back in the day, he won one WPT, made a pre-boom Main Event final table, and was the co-host on a semi-popular poker show. He generally has an inoffensive manner and he's a snappy dresser. But that's about it. He has no bracelet and his cash game and tournament performance have been so-so since then. If Gordon wasn't pals with Howard Lederer, he'd be sharing a cardboard box with Clonie "But I Wore Your Jersey!" Gowen right now.

What does all this have to do with his antics on TV recently? We are a society that rewards bad behavior with fame and opportunities. I'm sure that Gordon's agent told him he has to do something to draw attention to himself more. Pulling a Hellmuth after he loses gets him 30 seconds more camera time. (Time how long Gordon was on camera when he lost, compared to how long Huck Seed was on camera. Which is the outstanding player who takes losses gracefully?)

A few years ago at the same event (can anybody find a clip?), Gordon stood up and taunted his opponent to call him. He looked like an idiot, but I'm sure his agent called to congratulate him afterward. And when he lost he went into the crowd to kiss his girlfriend on the forehead: "See? I have a girlfriend!" ;-)

Incidentally, this is the same reason that Antonio Esfandiari goes "Weeeeeeee!" so often. His agent told him he needs a hook. (And I actually really like Esfandiari overall.)

Hi,

great show as almost always, although I haven't been able to listen much in April.

Adam, I didn't really catch that thing about your brother, only that he had an accident. I hope it't not too severe and he will get over it soon.

On a more positiv, or at least stranger, note I found out I share a birthday with the chark. Not sure if that's positive, but next time I see him do his shtick, I'll at least have some positive info on him...

Just got to the part about about Adam's brother. Very sorry to hear this. I'll keep him in my thoughts.

It's not about the product. It's about growing the brand.

Just wanted say I liked the episode a lot, thanks for two commutes worth of fun!

Terrence was a great addition to the mix, IMO. Favorite quote; "Didn't even have to look it up, Adam--just knew the word."

I couldn't agree more...
However, in the age of reality TV, what else could one expect.
