yeah i agree i thought she sounded abit like a bimbo tbh although its obvious shes not with law school etc but she came across that way to me.

She's definitely not nervous. That's the way she always is at the boot camps, in person and personal training. She's very passionate, nerdy and intelligent. It blew my mind the first time I had a 'real' conversation with her. My mind runs at a more lazy pace. Highly recommend her camps but you definitely should bring a voice recorder or note taking material as she covers a lot of material.

nice interview with Vanessa, a very literate young lady.

loved the way she financed her first big buy-in tourney by selling shares to her fellow law students and then returning 10 to 1 on their investment!

also found it interesting that she had 4200 euros in her pocket during the interview...

yeah she probably could, but if you were to read the post i did write that she obviously isnt stupid due to her going to a good uni + law school.

Just got caught up. I liked the last two shows. I thought Vanessa came off really well. I think she'll be a great spokesperson for the game as people like Daniel are. I, too, was surprised by how much she had on her. I always think you guys are nuts to guess so high and would have gotten destroyed. Mike saying he was fantasizing about her outfit was a little awkward and pretty funny.

OK, this may sound a bit nit-picky but it has been troubling me.

Does Mike operate on a different calendar than everyone else? He referred to this weeks invitational as the first one of the new year. Unless I'm mistaken the invitational will be on the 10th which is the second Sunday of 2010. And I'm pretty sure I played in last week's tourney.

I've heard him do this before when referring to the first or last week of a month when it wasn't. Is he operating on some sort of a fiscal calendar or what?

it get's complicated, we're on metric time, so it's easy to get lost in the conversion.

VR was one of your better guests, with reasoned, measured, engaged responses to the questions. Sounds like the sort of rarity in the poker world who has a private life of a quality equal to her poker skill.

Loved Adam's description of how he feels playing tournies and the "resolutions" riff.

The Sklanksy minute makes me feel like I got cornered by Rambling Man at a cocktail party and I can't get away. Please make it stop.

No disrespect to Vanessa Rousso. But could she stop saying "ehm" in between every sentence. I think she said "ehm" at least 40 times on this episode. I rather think it's close to 60 times. It's so annoying.

She says ummmm because she actually cares and thinks about her answers before speaking. They are not rehearsed bull**** auto-responses like a lot of people who do a ton of interviews. She is a poker player, not an actress.
