Great overview of the Ferguson "apology" video. You guys touched on one thing I had forgotten about, namely his holding up the Tapie deal. And sure, we NOW know that the Tapie deal could have been disastrous, but at the time, it was a glimmer of hope that the company would be saved.

In fact, it's fairly interesting to go back to Diamond Flush's coverage of the post-Black Friday Full Tilt saga all these years later: http://www.subjectpoker.com/2012/01/...bank-accounts/

The funniest part of the Ferguson video was his mentioning his "fans." While it's altogether possible that he did have actual fans, anyone who would still consider themselves as such were not likely those who had sizable sums of money tied up in FTP. They were –*as you guys mentioned – casual poker fans who watched a lot of boom-era poker TV. So apologizing to his "fans" is pointless. They are not the ones who were wronged.

Given that Chris got a lot of grief for saying absolutely nothing over the years and also given how it angered Adam and others, I am curious to know whether you guys think this apology is better than nothing at all. I am leaning towards better than nothing, but given the reaction I am not sure what everyone else thinks.

In the grand scheme, do you think it would have made much difference? I think the players were going to get paid as part of that deal anyway, But like you point out, at the time they should have taken the deal. Chris wasn't blocking it because of any concerns about the Tapie Group. It was for his own agenda.

I think this announcement has a reason, otherwise, why bother? I guess we find out in the next 12 months what the angle is.
