Pokercast 450 - Bill Perkins & RIO Coach Chris Kruk
Episode #450 - March 1st, 2017
Live from the Two Plus Two Studios - On this episode of the Pokercast: We are joined by renaissance man and king of high stakes prop bets Mr. Bill Perkins! To start we chat and get into a couple of forum posts before getting into ICYMI. This week: Phil Ivey’s case is going to UK supreme court, a Betonline skin caught cheating at blackjack, Absolute Poker founder returns to USA, American Poker Award winners and more. We are then joined Bill Perkins for a long form interview where we get into a whole ton of topics. From trading to streaming to high stakes private games and prop bet stories, a challenge is offered to Adam as well. After Bill, Chris Kruk of Run It Once returns to the show for a strategy segment with some hand analysis and tips on river play. To cap it all off we get into the mail in which we answer questions about Terrence’s response to the Keegan interview, the EV of a political bet, some insight into an amazing call and more!

Bill Perkins is a boss. Adam, you have no choice on the freeroll. You should check out Penn's book. He and his crew lost a similar amount in less time. As TChan said, the only way to lose is not to try.

Re: Pokercast 450 - Bill Perkins & RIO Coach Chris Kruk
2 pounds a week for 40 weeks can be done. He can probably lose a lot more the first few weeks. Is that optimal? It depends on him and how much low-hanging fruit.
Adam if you're the rational guy you put out on the podcast (say the careful explanation of maximum gas usage), you're already working on this. It is OK and human if you aren't, but it means that Bill basically owned you. You have to admire that he got you to explain that poker players aren't allowed to make BS statements without getting prop bet, and then making you miserable with a prop bet of your own loose words.
If you need cheer leading for the next year of weight loss, we're here for you. Here's the link to Penn's book. Not claiming it is the right path for you, but an idea.

Zero that include sugar. Lots that include aspartame.
The real problem is that I usually drink around 2 litres of milk a day. Going cold turkey on that, haven't had any for two days.

You just said don't make claims when you're around poker players because you'll have to back them up.
You just said the person doing the thing is usually good for it.
You just said people are more capable than they think (OK, he said that one).
And you still need to sleep on it?
It's a freeroll. The only thing you have to lose is your gut.
Also, we get something new to sweat (wonderful pun) every week on the pokercast.
Finally, is anyone booking side action? I'm asking for a friend.

Re: Pokercast 450 - Bill Perkins & RIO Coach Chris Kruk
In the hand analysis towards the end of the show there was a hand where he flops the nut flush and he leads half pot. I'm really curious here, why wouldn't a check-call be warranted? My thought process is always checking a 3 flush card flop would well disguise my flushes as well as give me the chance for a free turn when I don't hit it (which is obviously a majority of the time).

That moment where Bill calls Adam out (So, 150?) is possibly the best moment in Pokercast history. At least up there with "penetrating the women's market" and MJ not knowing how to say 'machete'.

Re: Pokercast 450 - Bill Perkins & RIO Coach Chris Kruk
Bill's interview is definitely in my top 3 of all time on the pokercast. Great attitude towards life, very open to answer everything, great sense of humour, it was amazing.
Adam I can't believe you actually said "... I 'm there pronto" lol. For a second I honestly thought you were goating him to give you a freeroll but if you were doing that you wouldn't have said 150.

Wasn't goading him at all, was pretty shocked when he offered it.

Re: Pokercast 450 - Bill Perkins & RIO Coach Chris Kruk
I've been enjoying the degen stories on the show recently and they reminded me of a story about something that happened near my hometown in the U.K. I had to google it as I couldn't remember who told me about it or where I had heard it and thought that it may have just been bull**** but lo and behold I managed to find an article about it in a (****) national newspaper. The amount of money lost is not huge compared to some of the other stories that have been on the show but the gradient of the downward spiral is pretty spectacular.

Re: Pokercast 450 - Bill Perkins & RIO Coach Chris Kruk
Doesn't Adam already have an ongoing weight loss prop bet until his annual golf tournament or have I missed an update there?
The words "giant fat ass" come to mind.

This is correct. Under 200 by the first round of Matt Savage's golf tournament at the end of May.
