Want to introduce a friend to the PokerCast. Her internet sucks.

Any great shows without too many inside jokes come to mind?

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, British scientists found
traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that
their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Brit's, in the weeks that followed, an American
archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly thereafter, a story
published in the New York Times: "American archaeologists, finding traces of
250-year-old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an
advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the
British".
One week later, a member of Newfoundland's Dept. of Mines and Resources
reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in Corner Brook,
Newfoundland - Jack Lucknow, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he
found absolutely nothing. Jack has therefore concluded that 250 years ago,
Canada had already gone wireless."

(...Just makes you darn proud to be Canadian, don't it! )

This has been bothering me for awhile.

I heard Jonathan Duhamel tell the world that poutine was made with BBQ sauce. Maybe the "spicy poutine" he eats is made with BBQ sauce.

Maybe it's a local thing? There's all sorts of poutine spots popping up all over the place -- "Smoke's" is one, which may be from Winnipeg come to think of it. They all seem to have crazy variations so maybe he got hooked on one?

True sacrilege for me was I once saw someone post to facebook that you make it with: SHREDDED CHEESE.

I didn't see this in the thread, but I figured it belongs here. I attended an end-of-quarter/Christmas party with the UC Davis women's volleyball team yesterday. They did the classic White Elephant or Yankee Swap game, in which one person ended up with the following item:

I would have swapped for it had I been playing, that's for damn sure.

Assuming none of these are Wilbury's daughter, let the rankings begin!!

Nah, that's the club team not the varsity team. The guy on the right worked in my office until a few weeks ago, though.

Bunner wins the internet

My thoughts exactly

Isn't 0 before 1? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Tis the season...

Now that I look at the team shot, I recognize the girl on the far right (Bunner's #2). She was on our team two years ago then left before the start of the season. Nice to see her back in volleyball in some form.

I shot this probably a week before she quit. (Hopefully this wasn't a reason.)

We announced a new football coach today. But since a) this is a Canada-oriented thread and our sport is what you call "hand-egg", and b) that we play in the FCS is probably outside most of our American posters' interest, I share the following...

At the welcome reception was bacon-wrapped chicken bites.

I wish I could wrap that up and bring it for lunch tomorrow.

From an old college friend, who posted this on his Facebook page: a maple bacon donut.

12-20-2012 , 06:17 PM
Bacon and maple crossing path on a donut? No wonder it's the end of the world tomorrow.

It looks delicious.
