There is one in Cortland, NY near Syracuse. I pass it on my way to turning stone.

Apparently A&W in Canada and the US are completely different restaurant chains:

Evolving into franchise in 1926, today the company has franchise locations throughout much of the world, serving a typical fast-food menu of hamburgers, French fries, and hot dogs.[7] A number of outlets serve as drive-in restaurants that have carhops.[8] Previously owned by Yum! Brands, the chain was sold in December 2011 to a consortium of A&W franchisees, through A Great American Brand, LLC.[5][9] A&W restaurants in Canada have been part of a separate and unaffiliated chain since 1972.

I was unaware of the Canadian version. I've only ever seen a couple of the U.S. version. The one that comes to mind is one you pass on the drive between L.A. and Big Bear. At least you used to until new construction allowed you to stay on major highways and bypass the smaller road where it is (was?) located.

Until that Wikipedia article, I never knew A&W originated in my neck of the woods. The driving distance from Davis to Lodi is not much different than the distance from Dublin to Kells.
