If possible please consider the last podcast, 500th episode. PLEASEEE

If the #1 option of resurrecting the podcast with Adam, Terrence, and Ross is no longer possible, I wonder if we can somehow get the podcast restarted in a different place.

Since the podcast has so many American listeners, it seems like a U.S. location would be a natural place to give a rebirth to the Pokercast. And since Los Angeles is such a haven of poker rooms, poker pros, and enthusiasts -- with a long stream of potential guests passing through town -- why not L.A.?

As far as podcasts go, I have a pretty good track record producing them. I'd just need to find a couple of very engaging, compelling, and dependable hosts. Certainly seems like Commerce tourney director Matt Savage could be a good place to start looking...

Thoughts?

After reading

As far as show 499 or 500, anyone that has listened to the podcast knows how much I dislike "best of" or milestone shows. It feels so much like patting ourselves on the back and it's just not something I've ever been comfortable doing.

All good things must come to an end in Life. As with Podcasts/radio, im sure many would agree you build up a picture of the podcast crew over the years, almost as if you know them.
You will never be forgotten.
Bye Goodluck.

This is the moment I'v been dreading for years...

Listener since about episode 150 - was my first podcast, and, although I have added many since, still my favourite one.

When Mike left I couldn't imagine it going on. And indeed, after the first show post Mike, I feared for the worst (sorry Marco). But then: TC to the rescue!
You and Adam were fantastic together from the get go. After Ross joined and slowly became an intergral part, the show really hit its all-time peak for me(sorry Mike!). Alas - all good things must come to an end, and it is a miracle how long this one lasted.

Thank you very much, it has been a fantastic time, and I wish you all the best for your future endeavors, which we unfortunately won't hear so much about anymore!

To Adam, Terrence, Mike, and all 2p2 Pokercast contributors:

Long time listener and avid follower.
Heartfelt thanks for all the love.
I was laughing so hard that I almost ran my car off the road when I listened to the episode with the (now famous), "Kathy Liebert has a great Twitter" comment. So much win!

GG 2p2 pokercast!!!

Thanks for the show guys!

Just caught up with the news. Thank you for all the content, have listened for years. Best wishes for the future.

Thanks for the great run guys.

All-time favorite moment was MJ with Machete. Thinking about that still makes me laugh out loud.

I am one of the likely very many listeners who never posted to the forum before, or called in, or anything like that, but listened very consistently going all the way back to "Rounders the poker show" with Adam and MJ in the early 2000s.

I want to thank everyone: Adam, MJ, TChan, Ross, and everyone over the years who made the Pokercast happen.

I was a very avid poker player, part-time pro during the boom, and have a very hectic job that I care deeply about but keeps my attention away from poker most of the time. Over these years (since about 2009), I've kept connected to the poker community primarily through listening to the Pokercast -- I had no time for anything else.

The funny thing about poker is that people always say it's "all about the money", but even when they got some money or perks from the show, I'm sure it was never an hourly rate that matched the value of their time and dedication to delivering useful and entertaining content. These folks did this thing for many, many years because they enjoyed interacting with the audience and sharing their thoughts and keeping people like me, who love to be a fan of poker but literally I always had missed during ICYMI segment because Pokercast was the one thing that kept me connected to poker.

While I respect and thank these folks so much for all their years of hard work for little or no pay, I must admit I feel like a major relationship just ended abruptly. I don't know who to "ask out"! I'd love recommendations for those of you that listen to lots of podcasts if you'd tell me what the "next best" podcast was for smart folks who will keep me up to date on the poker world (without to heavy a focus on tournaments). Podcasts are basically the only thing I have time for (while walking or driving) as I have almost no free time for hobbies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

(Actually, I'd really love if Adam and TChan could find time to do one more show where they might say: "Here's the podcasts we'll be listening to about poker and why". I'd love to get their recommendations on where someone like me should go now, but I understand if they don't have time for that.)

Thanks again folks and I wish you the absolute best!

Now for some questions/comments:
To quote Mason
"Unfortunately, times have changed and the poker world has slowed down a great deal. Eric Holder's Justice Department, which was part of the Obama administration, did a great deal of damage to our industry and to our show when they shut down the major Internet poker sites in 2011. So that today I'm officially announcing the suspension of the Two Plus Two PokerCast."
- Times haven't "changed" that was over 7 years ago. I was still happily married to my previous wife when black friday happened. The pokercast spent more than half of its existence since times have changed so I don't really view this as a valid reason.
This was an incredibly disingenuous statement from Mason. To be sure, I thought 8 years of an Obama administration would've seen at least some rolling back of the UIGEA and progress towards wholesale legalization of online poker, but traditional GOP politics are even less libertine and THEY were the ones controlling congress most of the time.
It sounds like the show has, unfortunately, run its course, and I doubt Ross, TChan, and Adam would have more time available to do a show if we had full legalization in the US. I'll have lots of fond memories of doing yard work and driving to poker games while catching the latest PokerCast.
Thanks for a great show!

Eh, probably episode #1 of the Full Contact Poker Podcast. Remember when Daniel gave his attempt to try a podcast awhile ago.

I'm actually subscribed and I'd say there's been half a dozen over the past 9 months or so.

It's going to be tough getting used to a different intro song again.

Unreal.
After years and years of listening I finally got a mention, and they end the show before I can redeem the karma.
In all seriousness: THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!
This show just put me on a good mood. I will cherish the memories.
I mean... “She’s got a great Twitter”

FYI, if you don't follow on Twitter, Adam, Ross and TC started a new podcast w/ Daniel Negreanu.

Called DAT Poker Podcast. Episode 1 released last week and episode 2 released today. About 75% through episode 1 and seems pretty similar so far.

Keeping Daniel interested in it week in and week out will likely be the tough thing. Likely set-up is they do all the prep work and send Daniel a list of topics a few hours before recording so he can be aware of what is being discussed and has the chance to add any topic he wants. This is all my speculation obv.

They themselves are probably not allowed to mention it on here, so I better.

Hi pope:

There are no restrictions put on them here, but I did make it clear to Adam that i’m very disappointed in this decision.

Best wishes,
Mason

Our agreement with them is over and they’re free to do whatever they want.

Mason

So then why would there be a problem?
08-28-2018 , 05:12 PM
He didn’t say there was a problem. He said he was disappointed.

Edit- does read more like a negative reaction than a “sucks we couldn’t agree to keep them here” but obv who knows.
