GPI rule #2: in order to count for GPI points the tournament must have at least 32 entries. The One Drop had 27. GPI has calculated the GPI points for the One Drop and determined that Justin Bonomo and Dan Smith get zero points! And this pool's rules that Xander can step in and fix things is only if GPI doesn't calculate points for the WSOP. They have calculated points for the WSOP and their calculation for the One Drop is that everyone will be awarded zero points.
Was everyone aware of this or is all heck about to break loose?

Well that sucks.
Figured that all open events counted. It seemed assumed from the rules of all the previous leagues. Everything counts except ladies events and senior/super seniors etc... Even put Smith in my team as he had declared for the one drop & other high buy ins prior to the wsop & thought he had a shot at a few results.
I don't believe anyone had considered a technicality of gpi points not being awarded for the final event was a factor prior to it happening. Personally I feel it's a little unsatisfactory that the event is discounted, it doesn't seem to be within the spirit of the competition. (& with genuine honesty I would say this whether it made a difference to my position or not). A little bit of an anticlimactical feel to it I suppose.
That being said. Xanderbiscuits is the guy running things & has clearly put in a lot of hard work & effort into organising this, as has ferencL (Thanks very much, greatly appreciated guys). All heck is not about to break loose
It really isn't fair to make an issue of it for these guys to sort out. I am grateful enough that they have given their time & energy to organising the league & updating scores. They don't deserve the headache.
A hundred bucks or whatever the difference between places (I haven't really looked) really doesn't make much of a difference. I enter a team for the sweat & the competition of it rather than to win anything financially (as most do I expect). Whatever Xanderbiscuits, who I suppose is the commissioner of the league, decides is the final say & I hope everyone is cool with that.
If I am allowed a moment of hubris, I am satisfied that my team seems to have performed the best in the pool (with a brief glance at the other teams near the top end of the rankings seems to confirm if the one drop counts I would collect enough points to win with two places in the top three of the one drop). If I wished to appeal it would only be for the win rather than the money. (Genuinely, nudge nudge wink wink
)
Being robbed of a victory on the river is not an unusual feeling for a poker player. Rather fitting. Being scuppered on a technicality in the last event like this feels very much the same way.
In my head at least it feels like a win. Or what was it they said? 'A statistical tie'
Anyhow, well played & gg everyone etc etc. This event is always a fun sweat. & a sincere thanks to all the time & effort put in by those organising & tallying the scores as they accumulate, you do a fantastic job.
