I think you have to have 12 months of living expenses in a liquid savings account. This can't be in any way part of your bankroll. Don't even consider going pro until this is taken care of. If you can't accomplish this you aren't ready anyways.
I don't think anybody should drop out of undergrad. If you can't handle passing your classes, partying and being a pro poker player, you aren't ready anyways.
If you are in a profession you like or at least can tolerate, I wouldn't quit to play poker full-time. The resume gap in today's economy can be a lot to overcome. Especially in the US, we have no idea when the rug can be pulled out from under us keep your job and use the money you would have to withdraw from your BR to move up faster.
I don't think anybody should quit a real profession to grind SSNL anymore. The window of profitability/ legality is closing. If you're making $8/hr at the Kum N Go then give it a shot, but not if you're in a job in your profession. If you're crushing midstakes then go for it. If you need inspiration about grinding poker and working, read zephendrix's well.
