It's important to bear in mind that he has won enough to cover the amount of the bet by this point. So he isn't going to lose money. As such, one could argue that once it becomes unwinnable in his opinion it is in his interest to just do whatever he feels will give him the chance to win the most money before the end of the period.
Ummm, if he was going to give up on the bet he can just go back to whatever stakes he normally plays such as NL400 6-max or some other limit. There would be no need to continue playing at NL200 full-ring just to make a better profit on those specific games if he is 100% sure he isn't going to win the bet.
Also, there is pretty much no chance I think that he cranks out the hours after this in a last-ditch effort to make up for it.
WGC had some good ideas on how to pull off some sort of bet like this.
One thing he neglected to mention but I'm sure he realizes is that the weekends are HUGELY important. More hours on Fri through Sun is pretty critical.
And he's been kind of blowing off the last 2 weekends.
