You guys are delusional. This bet is basically over.

Thank you for your expert opinion oh wise person with 4 posts. I'll say it's over when 31 days have passed.

He might have 4 posts...but I'm pretty sure he is correct. It appears that this bet is basically over. He needs to make 1500/a day in 20 days...that's a crapload, and considering he seems really unmotivated and only plays 18 tables...well, I'm pretty sure it is basically over. If anyone disagrees, however, I'm willing to put money up giving you something like 3:1 odds, 500 minimum.

I wouldn't call it completely over.
He would need to get his act together and get really motivated though and the way he has been going lately that appears kind of unlikely. I don't know how much he made in his latest overnight session though.

I'm really surprised he was trying to do this playing 18 tables or fewer the whole way [there might have been a couple times I saw him trying to do it on 20 though].
I thought he was a longshot assuming he could 24-table decently.
If I had known he was going to do fewer tables than that I would have bet more money on this.

Oh well. Live and learn.
I really thought this was easy money when the bet first came out.
Then he was seemingly proving me wrong with those early $2k and $2.5k days to start out with a game that appeared okay to me but kind of tight/nitty. So I was really doubting my analysis on this one.
But right now it definitely isn't looking good for him.

But over? Not quite. Kansas was down 9 to Memphis with 2 minutes left. Anything is possible.
He's got to come up with some $1.5k or $2k days pretty quickly though [like tonight and tomorrow or something like that] to stay in contention.
Even back to back days of $800 or something right now is really going to hurt as it just puts him further and further behind pace.

whats stopping him from having his friends dump him $ on a table?
I saw a pot he won last night and it was very questionable when the guy folded after committing 70% his stack then folding.....
shouldnt u guys be receiving something to prove this isnt happening?
05-06-2008 , 05:28 PM
all HHs are send to ackbleh at the end of the bet and can be analyzed. I doubt though that he is doing it...
05-06-2008 , 05:31 PM
losing 15k on ab et where hes going to profit 20k+ most likely for the month just isnt as bad as say... losing any reputation and future ties he has within the mass of worthwhile pokerplayers
05-06-2008 , 05:34 PM
He seems a decent enough guy and I trust him to not 'cheat' his way to the winner's circle this way.
Messing with the cash-games like that and getting caught by Stars is a good way to get his account closed and have his funds confiscated, etc etc.
So some of the incentive for him to not get $$ dumped to him in the cash-games for this is exactly the same as it is for anybody else who plays on Stars.

Plus, he knows that if he wins the bet his HH's will be looked over pretty closely including any big hand that looks particularly weird. Not worth the risk at all.
But again, I pretty much trust the dude to do this legitimately anyway.
05-06-2008 , 05:37 PM
yea, forgot to mention when him and his friends lose their funds and accounts for chip dumping

you've never seen someone bet most their stack and fold?

stuff like that happens all the time, I believe its called bluffing and getting owned
05-06-2008 , 07:01 PM
idk how people are saying this is over for the day hes prob up about 2k form last night and if he can get another good session tonight and have a similar day he can be confident and then be on track

anyways i could be wrong but looked like he did well last night
05-06-2008 , 07:08 PM
i'm willing to consider taking 5-1 on $500 for him making it.
05-06-2008 , 09:05 PM
I take it he's currently sleeping...

lol. slammedfire, im sorry if i started a trend of you getting roxors in your boxors homie.

Bet is definitely most likely over. It will take a hell of a comeback for him to do it. I wish him luck, but given the first ten days, his obvious and understandable frustrations and his inability to do 18 or so tables, it is practically impossible.
