but rake reducation makes it less necessary to reach elite to get the big bucks
so less elites, but maybe more winning players? or is this to naive thinking?

the reduction is negligable at midstakes Those playing 400+ might see a few hundred extra per month because the pot size meets the cap so quickly.

Those grinding 50nl-200NL 150k hands per month will probably see an extra $400-500 added on to their winnings each month.

So no, not really.

I played just over 110k hands this month on Stars at 200FR. I have won at around 1.75ptbb/100
When I filter for pots that I won and saw a flop and filtered for those pots that are greater than 30bb and took off $.20 per pot (which hits the rake cap) and under 30bb the decrease from 5% to 4.5% was a few hundred $$ at most

it's a 10% decrease in rake and 6.7% decrease in rake cap at 1/2. that's 10% decrease in rake minimum, not sure what the overall decrease will be. let's assume 13%. i played 175k hands of 1/2-3/6 this month (mostly 1/2). paid 15k in rake. i would have paid almost 2k less in rake this month. a lot more than a few hundred. and if i had played 88k hands (probably around what a lot of regs are playing) i would have saved 1k which is still pretty good.

Seems OK. Looking forward to reading them in full.

Disappointed because theres no way I can really get SNE now with an even further reduction in VPPs but at least my WR will go up to somewhat compensate.

Id guess Stars wants lower rake because they get taxed by governments on the basis of gross rake generated from their countries.

these changes are obviously awful for SNE, but maybe I'd actually be able to beat the games for more than .5bb/100 now.

SNE is still harder to attain but short term that is negated by SNE being worth more since you can easily maintain it throughout 2013.

IMO what was originally a terrible situation (change to WC) is now a better situation than it was pre-WC. so yeah, i'm a huge fan of these changes.
+1 to this

So VPP/hand is gonna be even worse but rake will be less and we'll see winrate improvements?

yes

Thanks for your work Klairic, looks like you guys did a good job. And props to Stars for doing right by the players.

Just started using a 2-monitor setup. How do I make my tables all tile on one monitor so I can keep the other monitor free for lobby/hem/etc?

In the lobby, go to "view" and then tile.

Or go to "view" and then play around with manage layouts.

Put all the tables u want to tile to that 1 monitor and apply tile there. If u need to tile a few more on the 2nd monitor, do the same on the 2nd monitor and nothing on the first monitor should change.
