its true that its likely to be US only, but from what I've read it likely to be more of an opt-in for each state so I think the pool of players will still be national, albeit from those states that decide to have online poker available to its residents.

lol. Over 7,000 hands a day for 9 days straight! New World Record perhaps?
08-10-2012 , 11:07 AM
you do 7000 hands a day sitting alone at a table declining every non-whale action... i think thats bragworthy

I had not really considered that it would NOT be segregated tbh. Remember the people who will make these decisions are megalomania control freak *******s. That sounds like segregation to me.

I took the news much differently, and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't part of the agreement that these sites would be able to re-enter the US? If that's the case, is this not a good thing for FR? The largest player-base in the world is now going to be able to get back online, and likely with greater ease than before, as the government has been paid, and will likely collect a percentage of future earnings, at least from the US players? I could be way off, but I thought that even with another large site up and running, the amount of new players coming back would outweigh those leaving Stars to play on FTP. I envisioned people eventually being able to go to Walmart and buy gift cards for online poker...
you misunderstand. The provision is that when US poker is regulated these sites will be allowed to apply for a license. It does not mean that magically, when FTP comes back up, americans will be allowed to play on FTP/Stars again
08-10-2012 , 02:08 PM
i just assumed that US regulation would mean that US players are only allowed to play on US regulated sites. im not sure why they would refuse rake from the ROW but you've probably read stuff i havent

would any americans who have moved abroad to play on stars again care to explain the process to me? Have search 2+2 and cant seem to find instructions. Also emailed stars, and got a reply that "because I'm in America, they cannot assist me with this information"

I know I need foreign bank acct + utility bill, would this be possible to obtain if I simply fly overseas and stay at a friend's place?
08-11-2012 , 10:06 AM
I had no utility bill so instead they called my chinese cellphone and aske dsecurity questions to confirm it was me.

The bank account part is pretty straight forward. There was a big thread about doing banking stuff in Canada in HSNL. I would try to get your name on the lease and utility bill before you get there if you can.

maybe try pm'ng one of the stars reps here about specific questions.

i know in my situation all they really needed was the lease (3 months) and a bank account. we worked around no utility bill.

Stars security required a bank statement from my local Canadian bank, telephone call to my studio and a copy of my lease. The process took people about 1 week avg, but I got my Stars account up and running in 36 hours.
