If you want to play serious poker on a Mac then you have to buy Windows and set up a Windows virtual machine on your Mac...so there's little point in getting a Mac in the first place.
Macs look pretty and the operating system is a bit better. That's about it. Apparently Windows 7 has closed the gap in that respect in any case. I bought my Macbook because I was one of the poor suckers that got lumbered with Vista ie PC AIDS on my desktop poker machine, and had a bunch of problems. So I vowed I would buy a Mac as my next recreational machine. Months after I spent $2500 on a Macbook to play Football Manager and browse porn sites on, Vista got dumped for 7 to a reception of: "they've copied the Mac OS, this is pretty good!"
Cliffs: Macs are great, but poor value; and are a terrible choice as your main poker machine.
