So, with Zoom, basically all the fish will go from the 6max and FR cash tables to the Zoom tables and start playing better because it's so easy for them to see a lot more hands?

RE: Resumes (original post by OMGitsCheddar)

Plenty of great advice in this forum - use the search function and check the BFI section... there is a thread by a headhunter in there that is particularly good on the subject

I think in terms of putting poker on a resume you should 100%. Yes, it may turn some people off but that is good - you are screening, you probably wouldn't want to work there anyway. Some employers (this is industry specific but necessarily limited to finance/investing/etc) will love this experience and it will help you stand out from the crowd and give you a chance to shine.

Be proud. This isn't a job gap, you were the ****ing CEO of your own company. You succeeded in a hyper-competitive marketplace where countless others have failed. You were self-trained and super disciplined. Honestly, the skills you gained in the past couple years will far surpass your peers and the level of confidence you should have when talking to employers should reflect this. You are a ****ing catch. And that is a good point to make RE: what to talk about under poker... don't talk about what you did, no employer wants to see how many hands/tables you played (unless it is Finance or something else where you are making rapid-fire decisions)... emphasize the skills you gained which are relevant to the position you applied for.

Re-read the posts by The Deal and juan valdez. These guys know their **** and most of their specific suggestions on your resume/interviewing/cover letter are ones I would repeat. When you think you are done, show it to someone smart who doesn't know anything about poker and have them go over it and try to explain to you what it is you did. If they can't understand it, dumb it down.

In terms of applying for a job, don't. In my opinion its a waste of your time.

> 95% of job openings are never even posted and your chances of an interview with your background will be 100x greater if you get a warm introduction. Re-connect with the people from high school and college whom you respected, even if you didn't know them that well. Be humble and ask for help. You will be blown away at what people are up to these days and how much weak ties can help you.

Resumes are going the way of the dinosaur soon anyway. Spend time building up your online presence (Twitter/LinkedIn/etc). If your twitter is just personal BS, make it private and make a new account for professional networking and sharing.

To give you an idea, here is how I have poker listed on my resume (with numbers removed).

SR Ventures
Poker Phenom | Strategy Consultant | Venture Capitalist (2008-2011)

• Recognized as one of the elite poker talents, listed in Worldwide Top 20 Winners of All Time within both of my selected markets
• Used knowledge of Bayesian probability, game theory, human psychology, and risk management to gain an edge in my investments
• Worked with SQL programmers to create a proprietary statistical database which I used to model competitor’s strategic tendencies
• Started an international poker consultancy, advising # clients on poker strategy and career management at a billing rate of $#/hour
• Maintained a steady investment deal flow to successfully find and stake the most promising up and coming poker talent
• Completed a total of # deals with # poker entrepreneurs for an average annual ROI of #% and total net profit of over $#

I guess so. I play 200 fr and there are still fish at the tables, especially during the evenings (EST). Eventually the rush cash games dried up and it was all regs. I'm not sure if they went back to the fr tables or what though.

i never played on FT so didnt experience rush

but if assuming zoom=ruhs, can people/fish using zoom to play sit at the same tables a normal table selecter like right now sits at..
or are there different tables for zoom and normal play?

edit:
probably a dumb question, but is it possible to play zoom and table select at the same time?

yes. zoom is gonna be a separate tab. you can play normal games as well as rush/zoom. thus, if you're insane, or joey, you could 24 table normal FR and 4 table rush on top of that.

incoming prop?
