Yeah it's been more than 2 dates. It's been about 5. Last weekend we hung out every day. They weren't all "dates" necessarily, but we still saw each other for about 4 or 5 hours friday, saturday, and sunday. But yes, I mean pretty typical **********, I try too hard and then end up scaring the girl away.

Came in here to post a cookie monster pic and drama bomb explodes. I enjoyed disco's videos on drag the bar that I got through my affiliate last month. Sucks to see people going at him on some wild beef, I guess online grinding ain't easy these days so gotta do something to book more hours from students.

Lol I enjoyed the cookie monster pic that you did post. And thank you sir, I try to use the "make them laugh" approach. Then they forget they're watching a poker video. It's one thing that's always been lacking from poker videos is some good ole fashion entertainment. Also my videos are usually no longer than 45m. Videos that go over that length are just too long imo.

oldschool obv selected disco for hu because he knew he was also a coach but didnt play hu.
Yea, this was my impression as well. I hadn't seen disco chime in at all against him b4 oldschool requested the hu match.

I am still a coach sort of. Haven't had any students in forever, but I am listed on Leggo as a coach. I will accept the HU challenge if u make it 10k hands oldschool if u just want to play against another coach.

I'll take you at your word that you wont have any of these other girls helping you out while playing.

Catch phrase "You have been called out sir"

Sorry, DF you are the voice of reason but this is happening as long as Disco doesn't shy away from it.
**********'s results (Big Bets per 100, not big blinds):

Oldschool's results:

Rates/hr (**********/Oldschool):
NL25 50$/65$
NL50 60$/90$
NL100 70$/90$
NL200 85$/not offered

I think it's quite clear who won this heads up match.

HU matches between FR coaches is lolbad.

oldschool posting your complete garfs in your coaching thread really is the only way to make this a "fair fight". Yer a smart guy, right? Haven't you figured out how to doctor a "All Hands" garf yet?

This is not my fight. I have no dog in this fight. I don't care how it turns out. I consider myself/mpethy/thac et al as arbiters in this one....and al the other epeen contests here. Keep it clean, make it fair OR GTFO of my threads.

Lol, this thread is awesome

Bw05707 thanks but no thanks.

I can see the forum is against me, no point in further interactions with you fine people. I know not everyone holds a negative opinion of me, but I am taking a-lot of **** here, so I'm just going to move along and accept the loss of your friendships. See some of you at the tables, best of luck!

Jeremy

Didn't mean to make it sound harsh. She obviously digs your company if she spent all that time with you. Flowers come off strong. It's why most people do it for valentines or anniversaries or whatever.
Some girls like to take their time in these things and she sounds like she's one. You're not on a time limit or anything, just let her get to know your suave self at her pace. Things will naturally progress without you having to push it along.

The ****ty part about all of this is that I received some very quality coaching yesterday and reflected it in this post here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=226

but I feel that post will be overlooked by all this beef/drama/etc. posted in Disco's thread. At any rate I have a very opinionated outlook on this whole thing so I will give my 2 cents.

@OldSchool, I am a bit confused as to why you called out Disco? Is it because he posted something in your coaching thread that was distasteful? If so, then challenging HU is the wrong way to go about it. Don't get me wrong, I know Jeremy personally and I can't speak on his results or whatsoever, but he did coach me a long time and I did learn. That has nothing to do with the present though. I just think it could have been handled a bit differently.

@Disco, I think outwardly declining HU is fine because it seems you are on the defensive. You handled it ALOT better than I could at any point in time because whenever somebody spoke out about my results as a coach, I would get highly defensive and fast.

I know both guys and they are both swell. I think being the Robin Hood of coaches has no place in poker though, as you basically are trying to facilitate how somebody else spends their money. These coaches PAY for coach listings on 2p2, and FOR FREE you can go in there and demand results and rip them apart all you like. While I find this to be fundamentally fair in a free market coaching economy, what benefit does this serve you? Is it really spreading the good word about how this guy plays poker awful, is it to cut their winnings from this game, is it for bad publicity? What is it, because I genuinely would like an answer.

Don't say "Its inherently wrong to charge people for something they promise and do not give", because thats entirely subjective. Just because he would never be a good coach in your eyes does not mean the same for somebody else. You can never evaluate a coach's entire impact on a community because I promise you there are people who were satisfied with what they were charged for. Otherwise, 2p2 would have lawsuits on their hands all the time (right?)

Live and let live is all I say.

And I will say Disco is a damned fine dude in the time I have come to know him as a peer and a coach, and I can say the same for Jeremy. The difference between me and some of you is I don't care if what they are doing is inherently wrong or ripping people off, because it isn't my business. Once it becomes my business I would be concerned. I also can speak for the majority since I have been coached by both, and my professional opinion is that neither of them lie or deceit you.

What I feel like when playing HU:

02-09-2012 , 05:46 PM
i live in detroit, sick barg, but was was curious abt the course of action to rent an apartment or office space in windsor and grind there while going to school right across the boarder and having residency in michigan...or if this is even possible
02-09-2012 , 05:48 PM
I come back to this. Sigh.

ughhhh. i guess ill give my opinion now.

Had a conversation with someone a few weeks ago when the split/tri thing first started. Basically the question was posed to me "Why do I care?" so i spouted off some BS about the being dishonest and lolprices and whatever else the 2p2 hive was ripping them apart for.

Afterwords I kind of kept thinking about it and I realized why at least I cared. I have spent a lot of time and effort on this game, working my ass off to get good and become a winner. To have coaches with no results put up a thread charging for lessons is insulting to anyone who has done so. It dismisses how hard we've worked by flippantly claiming anyone can do it.

I think thats why SSNL in general cares so much about this. Anyone who regularly posts in this forum does so because theyve put in that time and effort. We've worked hard to get where we are in this dumb game.

After reaching this conclusion, I've kind of stayed out of the coaching drama (despite how fun following it has been). Just realizing this fact has kind of taken the insult out of it for me. I dont really care that they make their living coaching anymore, I'm happy to make my living playing. Were all just trying to profit from the fish.
