Well, since Les and UCD are mia, and PTR is pointless, that only leaves hookers or twinkies.

I vote hookers.

sigh just sorta assumed I'd get into UMD in the fall did a transfer interview and lady made it sound like there was 0% chance I didn't get in got letter today saying got denied for the fall and didn't make any back up plans at all. So frantically looking to see if there are any decent schools with transfer app dates still to come for the fall maybe I'll do canada (no way in hell I'm putting money on merge after what happened yesterday) a few months and actually apply to more than one school for the spring so I get into at least one lol.

Looks like Australia is talking about following in America's footsteps:

I've been looking into schools as well, I'd like to go from my bachelors in bio to masters in elec. and comp engineering. I think it's possible to get into a program like that, although obviously I'd have to take pre-reqs. But same boat too, deadlines are mostly passed/out of state tuition sucks/need to bump math gre.

was thinking recently about the wonders of computer technology, short term moves, and euro sites. utility bill seems like it would be a bitch to get tho.

But really I've got to find a crappy lab job for now...honestly at this point I'd rather play on euro site from US than US-facing sites and have real money on the line. although VPN alone really doesn't cut it.

what degree you going for?

That sucks man. I applied to their MS/PhD program in Electrical and Computer Engineering and got in, but didn't receive any funding (which is rare for MS/PhD programs in Engineering disciplines) so I'm going to Georgia Tech instead (they actually have a higher ranking anyway).

I think you can definitely make that switch, and I have plenty of friends who are trying something similar. At my Undergraduate school biomedical engineering and electrical engineering went hand in hand more than one would expect - whether it be through classes, research, or senior design projects.

Unfortunately for you guys it's damn late to be applying to school this Fall. But if you are just looking to do a Master's (and thus willing to pay for your education) USC seems to be a school interested in accepting a ton of MS students, and they have pretty good rankings as well. Unfortunately, I think they seem to be more of a business in this regard, but they do seem to have what you're looking for.

If you guys need help with anything let me know - this is stressful process that I've just gone through.

What do you mean "more of business in this regard"?

Another option is to try and get a BS E.E. from Tech (My biology degree is from a GA state school, GT does 2nd bachelors as transfer students, and I think I'd get in state tuition). I don't know which is the better choice.

either way I'd be looking at spring 2012 at the earliest.

From what I've seen and from what I've heard from a Professor I did research for, USC seems to accept a ton of Master's students because the University will make money from them.

Why not try to apply to an MS in ECE at Tech? You might have a decent chance of getting in. Honestly, I'd call them and explain how you want to switch majors and see what they tell you.

Oh and if you're still living in Georgia let's get drinks when I move down to Atlanta.

Sure thing... I've actually never met anyone off the internet before. I guess the main thing I'm trying to decide is at what point of not having basic engineering intro classes make (Masters+Deficiency Classes if possible) < 2-3 years B.S. at a really good school.

I noticed you thought I was biomedical engineering, but I just have a Biology Degree(which was a lot of hard science (microbio/chem/ochem/etc) courses but not a lot of math, just calc I/trig based physics).

I'm leaning at this point of taking two semesters, transferring into Ga Tech in summer 2012 and finishing out a 2nd BS.

My undergraduate school (BU) has a program for people with a Bachelor's outside of Engineering to get a Master's in an Engineering major by taking the minimum number of undergraduate courses needed to catch up as well as all of the Master's courses. It sounds like such a program would be perfect for you, though I'm not sure if Tech offers anything close to it (or if many schools do at all, for that matter).

BU meaning boston university? this sounds like something id be very interested in. how long does this program take? And is it 50k/year **** the rest of the school?

My degree is in chemistry but i want to do a masters in a different field.

Hey Adam what year were you undergrad at BU? You said you're electrical/computer sci right? My cousin was in that major there though i would assume a few years before you
