I am a lot more positive about poker these days - even when running like ass. TBH, humans are pretty adaptable and I've learned that poker is basically a pile of aids in much the same way that someone with
actual aids learns to accept it and deal with their condition.
...and yeah, Rush is pretty much that bad. You really do have to make some pretty absurd folds at times. People generally don't balance well or at all meaning that certain conditions = 2nd nuts/pure nuts meaning you absolutely should fold anything else.
My bro has around 400k hands of Rush under his belt and he says he has confidently folded KK pre at least 5 times in that period - something he'd very rarely do in 'normal' games.
To me Rush is a compromise. I'm confident I can beat 12-14 normal tables for a higher BB/100 but I'm not yet sure where I achieve the best $/hr - need much more sample. The important thing for me is that I
love the following about Rush:
1. You can sit in and out at will and play 5 minutes or 5 hours.
2. You rate of hands/hr is the same in a 5 minute session or a 5 hours session.
3. You don't need to worry about table selection as it is randomized. Everyone gets an equal shot at the fish and an equal shot at being to the left of them.
4. For some reason I find I can play longer without wanting/thinking about leaving and doing something else.
5. Rakeback/FPP's FTW
