so am I right in thinking that variance (not talking about AIEV) plays a hooooge role in rush?

seems like to get even vaguely close to the long term in rush you need to play at least 500k hands and that based on what kind of variance you hit in your first 100-200k hands you can be lucky enough to start making really great adjustments vs if you get the "wrong" kind of variance you just don't have a clue.

I'm having ridiculous swings this month. Really starting to annoy me that there's no run it twice in rush games.

Yeah I'm starting to agree, I went through my first 100k BE / downswing or whatever when I first moved up to 100 rush and made such serious adjustments that I looked forward to folding non-nut hands just b/c I'd convince myself they always have it.

This game type needs run it twice imo

Getting drunk and play 25nl rush at 32/26 will turn you no profit except the 3 bi's you make in non-showdown winnings. On a sidenote, no one pays off anything no matter how aggressive your image is there

Figured I would post here as I just got going on rush

Love the style... I usually play 3 at once and that's pushing it.

me too.
I play 4 tables at once usually. Looking to get to 400nl by the end of the year. If any of you rush players want to swap AIMs or whateveer let me know, I could use some people to talk to about rush. I also coach mixed games, if any of you are coaches and would want to swap lessons.

Spoiler:

Must be really satisfying to have your 6bet called, see the ugliest possible flop, pick up a backdoor, get it in and pray, and discover your opponent is drawing dead in a 350bb pot.

As to the spoiler, the lass on the left looks like she may have been caught mid-fart, but massive props to whoever took the shot on the right.

I just started playing Rush about 40k hands ago, but I have made several adjustments.

The main one is that I am far more willing to play chicken against the Rush aggrotards.

No adjustments needed. Just revert to 13/9, never bluff and set mine, it's like printing money

probably true, but there is still money in 4bet-calling your mid PFR range against a lot of regs.

Yeah, poker is hard when you keep flopping the nuts.

What did he have in the QQ hand? I think your river shove is pretty bad unless you have a read.

River shove is horrible, but I had a read. Villain was a monster fish

He had KK, not sure why it didn't show up. and it's not about flopping the nuts, it's about the spazz fest that is rush with the over aggro regs.

lets cold call a 3 bet with 88 and then overbet shove a JJx flop where we only get called by worse
lets call a checkraise with AK high and then spazz shove the turn etc etc
but flopping the nuts does help
11-21-2010 , 10:05 PM
can you coach me on that?

@Nl____Fool I Def agree with you.... lots of spewtards/whales on rush.... Btw I didn't know u were DC instructor ; do u mind telling me ur name on DC / eventually your SN on full tilt ?
