500k Hands In August Thread 500k Hands In August Thread

I think it must be grossly underestimated the effect grotesque volume can have on winrate. I would be interested to see Hodge's winrate if he were to do something as "easy" as 16-table 100k hands per month

have you ever tried to put in serious volume like this before? it is alot easier than it looks. Some ppl can do it but not many can do it with a positive winrate even.

Thats true I guess. Im just so jaded I dont realize how hard it really is to put in massive volume with a positive winrate.

What do you guys think...like 1-2% of the poker population can play 150K+ hands per month with a positive winrate? Just curious

He's calculating milestone bonuses separately.

However, it would produce a far more accurate graph to just use a more precise rakeback percentage across the board, as it would eliminate the milestone spikes.

(E.g. Let's assume [for ease of calculation] each VPP is worth $0.10, and that he averages, say, 0.40 VPPs/hand @ $1/2 [according to HEM over 100k hands,] then each hand you play is worth $0.04 in bonuses. That 100k hand sample will also show you how much rake you have paid, you take the ($0.04 * 100,000) and divide it by the rake for the percentage.)

so much respect, i dunno how you do it

i might hit 100k hands in a month for the first time ever this month and it feels like all i do is grind all the time

i dunno how you do it, it seems like it would be very hard

do you live alone? do you leave the house on most days?

I moved back home in late July so that I wont have any distractions. I rarely leave the house and only know one person in this city. ****ty way to live but I have to do it. Moving to southern Spain in mid October and would prefer that I dont have to do a massive grind once I get there.

rofl no way you are losing money doing this imo

btw you going for sne right ? is it posible to get sne by just playing nl100 like 6 hours 25 days a month ? i think on moving to stars on november to try making sne thats why i ask

oh another question normal rb its about 33% but what if i make like 700k vpps at the end of the year i think with milestone bonus its like 40% right ?
08-18-2010 , 07:28 AM
I believe sne takes a bit over 3 mirrion hands of 100NL full ring so 150 hours per month of getting 1.5k hands/hour would still leave you a few hundred k hands short

Yeah I am going for SNE. I refuse to fail this time.

You would need to play 3.7 million hands of NL 100 FR to obtain SNE in a year. So yeah you would come up short if you did that.

And yes you are right, your percentage goes up the further you go along due to milestones. 40 percent sounds about right.
08-18-2010 , 08:04 AM
man SNE sounds so sweet. if i had any drive whatsoever i would definitely lock myself in my house for a year, take the $150k and boom instaballer.

and to aggrodog fpppro says 700k VPP is about 50% rakeback http://www.fpppro.com/pokerstars-rakeback.php
08-18-2010 , 09:38 AM
Without Rakeback

With Rakeback(33.5 percent + milestone bonuses)

Other stats

Hours Played: 192.11
VPPS Earned this month: 101972.32
Total VPPS: 442484.73

dear god man..

I still don't get why you simply don't ask people with connections for a deal with a soft euro room(60% to 70% rb) where they wouldnt ban you from their site as long as you go through a VPN

many people would do this for a 2-5% cut

Good luck though, saw you fail last year... i always root for you and joey to make it big.
