And you can keep eye on IHH and lobby if your tables are stacked and you are using only one monitor. But if you miss that your table is breaking up or you time-out then it's god damn hard to find table where you timed-out or which table breaked up.
If you check out the same post on my blog, it has screen shot examples of each style. The stack screen shot shows almost exactly how I play. Start bar on the left with all table names, tables right next to it.

Timing out can be a big pain. God forbid you have to go to the bathroom. At least while tiling I could buy myself a good 20 seconds. Stack = no breaks.

I've folded AA and KK a couple times stacking...I've also done it tiling, but there is a bit more risk while stacking. Another slight drawback.

It isn't that the table pops up and you misclick, its just when you have 8 tables needing action and timing down, you get 6 rag folds in a row, and then AA shows up, occasionally you cant get out of fold-mode fast enough.

And then you spend the 4 seconds you just saved slapping yourself in the face.

Thanks for this post. I was just about to buy a pair of 24" monitors so I could tile up to 24 tables. (probably still will) But I might have to give the stacking thing a go again. I never really liked stacking even 4 tables when I first started but the Stars software has improved a lot since then. Cascading is just too annoying visually. I always think Im missing something. The idea of tiling 24 tables was a bit hard to fathom being able to keep up with all of the mouse and head movement without getting fatigued pretty quick.

sorry if u answered this but do you use a HUD when you play?

If you didnt like missing things with a cascade, a stack probably would not work out too well. You miss a LOT of information you're used to having while you tile. It is information that doesnt matter -that- much...like the results of all-ins, or action you are not a part of. But it takes quite a while to get used to not being able to see whether or not your AA held until 1 minute later when you notice that table is down to the minimum buyin.

i think 24tabling and trying to tile tables is insane and would not even attempt it. OH and belok do u think its neccesary to run pt and hud if ur going to 24table succesfuly?

Depends on your style. I personally need a hud because I cant remember names worth a damn, and am absolutely terrible at taking notes.

I'll be talking more about the HUD tomorrow though.

I've played about 600k hands this year 50% 18tabling and 50% 24 - I wont be posting my stats.

My game is nothing special though.

Belock, how do you reload? The ahk script I have doesn't auto-reload...I gotta keep hit F11

I'll be covering AHK scripts later - but I essentially do it the same way you do.

Nope, and even if i did, it wouldnt matter that much. I'm constantly making tweaks in my game and comparing WRs really wouldn't show us anything.

I just went from cascade to stacker. At first it was stressing me out but I stacked for an hour i think i like it. I learned real quick to only click mouse once.

I wont be getting into too much detail as far as AHK Scripting goes. I'll just be pointing you in the general direction. Though I would say that a general understanding of AHK would be beneficial to anyone - especially poker players.

would a tile/stack method be an effective in between for a smaller monitor. Say 4 stacks of 4, so you see some of what's going on but can fit in more tables.

Very nice post

Honestly, what works best for me isn't necessarily going to work best for everybody. I'm just giving some pointers that have worked for me.

Customization is definitely important - experiment and figure out what works. Tiles of stacks, cascades of stacks, a giant random mess of tables rainkhan style, theres a lot of inbetween

If I posted that many pictures at a rate of 5 posts per hour, would I have enough VPPs to be SNE?
