Spacecowboy is a European mid stakes NLHE player who has reached the level he is at now by perseverance, learning from mistakes, and a creative yet logical mindset when it comes to poker. I discovered poker my senior year of college (2004), first in home games and then with a free $2 from Paradise Poker. I almost didn’t finish my thesis as a result, since poker was fascinating and allowed me to use my already formidable procrastination skills. For two years after that poker was a hobby as I slowly built my bankroll. In late 2005 I got a copy of SSHE and from that found the 2+2 LHE forums where I started posting in Dec 2005. I went from learning, to understanding, to posting and helping others, and I've been prolific there for a long time now.
As my game improved I started grinding bonuses and soon had a nice side income. When I quit my job in late 2006 I figured I'd play poker as a stopgap until I went back to school or found something new, which hasn't happened yet! So I've been a 'pro' for about two years and a million hands now.
2+2 and DC have been very good to me and I've learned a ton at both places. Over the years I seem to have built up a fair bit of knowledge, and have developed a knack for communicating ideas and concepts, so I figure it's only fair I try to give some back. Teaching and coaching are very rewarding for me because they help me to understand things better, and to see things from different perspectives, so I really enjoy the process.
I'm working with students from .25/.50 to 5/10 (FR and 6m LHE) and everywhere in between. My coaching is aimed not only at playing better, but in approaching and thinking about poker in a clearer and more expansive way. We will find specific leaks to work on, as well as larger themes to keep in mind both at and away from the table.
