its not up
10-01-2008 , 07:53 PM
it's working fine now for me. was this a temporary issue or is it still the case for some?

haven't been able to get to stoxpoker.com all day.

ping to the domain fails.

network lookup reports that stoxpoker.com is a non-existent host/domain.

looks like (at a minimum) some name server entries might be messed up.

I've worked with a few members currently experiencing this issue today and looks like this is a DNS issue out of our control - That said our lead developer has been notified and hopefully everything is fully operational again soon.

OK, so I am able to log in from home but not from work. I got on last night and tried again today. I am wondering if some servers are having trouble but not others. I would say my work blocked it, but they really don't block anything, and others are experiencing the same problem.

Hope its resolved soon so I can watch me some Sippin_Criss

I'm currently working on this issue with our lead developer - Could anybody experiencing any issues please private message me a phone number or e-mail address I can reach you at and I will contact you if I need any further information for diagnosing this issue further (I will also private message you back once everything is resolved, regardless of whether I need to get some information from you or not).

Regards,

Michael

if someone could post the IP address of stoxpoker.com, then, we could all get to it by using the IP address instead of the domain name (stoxpoker.com).

then, when the get their dns name servers synched up again, all should be well.

thanks.

Can someone that is having this connection problem RIGHT NOW please call me.

It would be very helpful in resolving this as our IT Director will log into your machine directly and trouble shoot this issue.

It is likely that once it is resolved for one person it will be resolved for others having the same issue.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jim

UPDATE:

We have a member on the phone with our IT Director right now that is experiencing this problem.

Will post an update soon.

Jim

Sorry I would love to help but someone logging onto my computer here at work could get me fired. I'll let someone having trouble logging on from home field this one.

We identified 1 of 12 routers in our rack in one of our datacenters that was the problem.

That router has now been replaced. The host had been having trouble with the router for a couple of days and had rebooted it 2-3 times before finally replacing it just now.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing the problem.

Thanks

Actually the host did one more reboot again about 15 minutes ago but as of 8 minutes ago they gave us the "all clear" on that router.

Are you still having the problem now?

Ok. A further update.

The issue with the router is resolved as I said above, but it seems that we had 2 issues occurring here at the same time.

I have asked members to call me that still cannot connect. 3 have called and all three are based in the US and have Verizon for an ISP. In fact thet can't connect to about 10,000 IP addresses surrounding ours.

We are working to contact Verizon on this or determine any other way we can expedite this getting resolved. I will post another update when more is determined.

Just to be sure that we have isolated this as the only other connection issue . . . IS THERE ANYONE THAT STILL CANNOT CONNECT AND IS NOT BASED IN THE U.S. WITH VERIZON AS AN ISP?

UPDATE:

We have found the email address that Verizon monitors constantly for this type issue and have notfied them. We have also called the # published for this type issue with Verizon but had to leave a voice mail. From what we determined in the newsgroups . . . the email to the channel we notified is the fastest way to get them to resolve these type issues.
