i've been a Footjoy fanboy for decades. i know my size (11.5M) and can order a pair of shoes online without ever trying them on and they always fit perfectly. their sizing has been consistent for years. always have waterproof shoes for the winter, and i also tend to buy dryjoys for summer months when there's still a chance of rain or wet rough.
haven't worn metal spikes in 30 years, i tend to replace plastic cleats with either softspikes black widow or pulsar (whatever is on sale), i have a few pair of spikeless FJ shoes that i wear in super-dry summer conditions but the seasonal window for them is limited in my geographical area.

I have to violent of a swing for spikeless to ever work for me. I do wear them on driving range days though. I always seem to have a pair of Foot Joys and Adidas at any given time. Soft spikes on both of those. My shoes tend to last longer now that I can just drop it off with the shoe guy at the club.

Now that my 3 wood got delivered I guess it's time for me to do a list.

Spikeless. My swing is so non-violent that I pretty much never lose traction. I hate softspikes.

Also fond of True Linkswear but the NB are what I wear.

I rotate between 3 pairs of the old style True Linkswear, I'm sad they stopped making them but I haven't tried any of their new offerings so maybe I'd be happy with them. They kind of look like clownshoes but they're so comfortable and I like how close to the ground my feet are

Nike Roshe G are my spikeless dry day shoes currently. FJ dryjoy casuals and Nike Tour Premier when it's wet.

Wore a pair of those for like 7 years. They're pretty amazing shoes. The newer ones definitely don't feel quite as low/stable, but look less goofy.

I started wearing the new balance minimus shoes with spikes this year, pretty sweet. Still put on my true linkswear from time to time, but feel like I am missing out on too much not having a little more traction.

I've been using the Ecco Biom's for the last several years. They are spikeless and I have slipped once or twice this year hitting drivers but I love walking in them.

I've worn the New Balance Minimus with spikes as well, since maybe end of '18? But I find they are not nearly as comfortable to walk rounds in as my couple pairs of 6-8 year old Ecco Biom's. As I've walked most of my rounds this year I've started wearing the Ecco's again, don't think I will go with another shoe.

Just wish Ecco made a spiked version.

Adidas S2G golf shoes, just got them 6 weeks ago. Look good, and feel great to walk in.

My feet were the only dry part of my body after today’s round.

New balance waterproof. So comfortable too.

Took a few rounds and some range time to get a feel for the 3 wood. There were many tops, skulls, duffs, and lost balls that flew deep into the woods.

I found the club face well today, and the performance from the titleist ts2 3 wood was top notch.

Now my bag looks like this:

Wilson staff 5 wood (lack of distance here creates gap from 210 to 3 wood full shot, minor concern).
Mizuno mp30 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, P. This is a forged cavity back iron set. I like the long irons but I want to replace 8, 9, P with a muscle back.
Titleist 54 vokey wedge (gap from 105 to 120 I need 58 wedge).

Once I am healthy again I am going to do a driver fitting. Plan is to go with Cobra Radspeed. Also interested to see if there is a better shaft for me out there. Thinking a Tensei White might sneak its way into the driver. I'm gonna do 2 different sessions, one to verify what head I want and a second to pick a shaft. Also would really like to try some shorter shaft lengths. More than willing to give up some distance for accuracy.

My 4 hybrid is a temporary fix until I get an actual 22* hybrid.

Hopefully the 2021 season starts in about six weeks, to be determined whether I make any of the usual spring trips. Haven't purchased anything except a new pair of shoes, the only club I bought was a gift for someone else.

Only change in the setup so far is that I'm switching to the Titleist Tour Speed, played a sleeve late in the season and they were noticeably longer for my slow swing speed game.

Also have a goal of getting a driver fitting this year, though I'm happy with how consistent the 915D3 was last season.

My bag evolved a bit last year. Currently carrying 14 clubs but I want to get a decent driver this spring. So I have options for which club to drop. Does it make sense to carry 15 or maybe 16 clubs ? Seems like a potential distraction and the rules are you can play 14 clubs in a round. Just not sure which clubs I'll need. If I bought a driver tomorrow I would probably take the old Wilson staff 5 wood out, which would leave me without a good rescue club from rough lies. I'm not playing us open rough, and i use the 5 wood less than once per round on average. 3 wood or 5 iron will have to be my best clubs for coming out of the rough in lieu of 5 wood.

Other options would be to take out 5 wood, and 54 degree vokey wedge, replacing with driver and a real 5 wood(sorry Wilson staff u kinda suck) this would fill in the current gap between 2 iron and 3 wood(2 iron goes farther than Wilson 5w).

Could also take out 5w and 2 iron replacing with driver and real 5w. I like this option for courses that dont require lots of long irons off tee and or lots of long iron approaches.

I'm also considering getting muscle back short irons pw through 8 iron. Because I lost my 8 iron last June. It has since been replaced by a 5 dollar lost and found 8 iron.
9 iron is too offset. And pw is guilty by association. I'm open to recommendations.

found a used 915 D2 titleist 8.5 degree driver at the pro shop. its in really good condition for 130 bucks on a gift card.

I was curious what 915s are selling for so I looked at 2nd Swing -- based on that, $130 is a good price. Obviously you can get them for less elsewhere, but if you're looking to use your gift card it may not matter.

I dunno personally if I'd get a 915D2, and I say that as someone who currently games a 915D3 (I also had a D2 but liked the D3 better) -- it's now four generations old (--> 917 --> TS2/TS3 --> TSi2/TSi3) and it wasn't a class leading driver when it was new.

How are you getting along with the TS2 3 wood?

TS2 is fantastic. After breaking my driver shaft early last summer, my longest clubs were a shitty Wilson 5 wood, and the 5 iron. Later I added the 2, 3, 4 irons and the 3 wood and my tee shots steadily improved all year.

The new driver wasn't what I was looking for. I wasnt sure but I love the design of titleist adjustable hozel. So I was looking for the cleanest clubface I could find on an affordable titleist. I got lucky and found one that looks pretty young for its age.

it was pretty rough at the beginning actually. lots of tops and skulls and dribblers and monster slices into the woods.

then i started finding the clubface and was hitting some of the best 3 woods of my life. hitting draws and cuts on command. hitting it through some dogleg fairways into the rough. setting myself up for lots of 100 to 150 yard approaches. was even around some par 5 greens in 2 shots with consecutive 3 woods. on one shorter par 5 i ripped a draw over the top of the highest point on course that curved just into the left rough about 200 yards from the green. had to hit a draw around a tree so i gave it room to run down the hill with a 5 iron. held the back fringe about 15 feet from the pin. an auxiliary benefit of the 3 wood was the development of my long iron play off the tee on doglegs as necessity because of how far im hitting it.

3 days ago i ripped one about 250 on the first tee of unknown course. always nice to get good contact on the first shot of the day. nearby sprinkler head read 248 yards, but my feet were on the relatively flat fairway while the ball was in light rough well above my feet on a sidehill lie. so i went for it. duff. ball moved a foot. one more try. pop up to the left rough. then i didnt use 3 wood at all afterward that round.

the next day i went to play 18. pulled 3 wood from the right rough on the 3rd hole par 5 from about 240. tried to hit a low cut, thought i made a good swing and had good contact, but the ball never made it higher than 15 feet off the ground and stopped about 30 yards short of the green. figured that i had just caught it thin.

then i chose 3 wood for my tee shot on the par 5 third hole, which takes a hard left turn at about 200 yards off the tee box. since i have yet to hit a controlled draw with the new driver and have hit it straight only a handful of times so far, driver would probably put me in the right rough or the right fairway bunker about 260 out. so 3 wood is the club for that tee shot. did my routine, felt like a good swing, but the ball didnt fly higher than 10 feet off the ground and curved to the right slightly. found my ball at the beginning of the fairway and had plenty of hole left to play. so i tried to hit my standard cut 3 wood which is usually very reliable. again the ball didnt fly. so i had about 350 yards to the green left to play. tried the cut 3 wood again. again the ball didnt fly and found the right edge of the fairway about 250 yards from the green. now i start thinking my club is ****ed up. so i inspected it and found that the screw that holds the hozel together was loose and this was allowing the head to shake about 1/8 of an inch. so i retired the 3 wood for the round.

the next morning i went to the pro shop where i bought the club and the guy fixed it with the special wrench in 10 seconds for free. i would definitely have complained if he tried to charge me for the 10 second wrench work, but despite his lack of friendlyness and cheer, he really seems like a decent guy. lets me play extra 9 for no charge somewhat often. tells me that if im there first thing in the morning that i can just go play and settle up after, which has led to a free 18 on one occasion; when i approached to pay he told me to get lost lol. so yeah good service imo. im pleased as long as the 3 wood doesnt fall apart next round.

been doing ok with the new titleist 915D2 driver. good contact makes the top flight XL Distance balls(which i got for christmas ty sister) fly between 240 and 275 depending on how much i slice it. the more i slice, the shorter the shot naturally. but ive hit a few somewhat straight and the difference in distance is huge. have yet to even attempt to hit a draw with it essentially because ive just been playing. no range time yet with new driver thus im just going with the shots that i feel confident hitting. havent popped any up yet but i have caught some low on the face, shots which have been traveling surprisingly far for a mis hit.

Any wood you buy with an adjustable head is supposed to come with a torque wrench. The big 4 manufacturers wrenches are interchangeable, think Srixon uses a wrench that only works on their clubs.

Get one, no different than having balls and tees in your bag.

i have also used mine to drill a hole in frozen ground when you just can't get the tee pegged the normal way. more than one round at Bandon over the years has required it.

Not quite what's in your back but I just got back into golf after not playing for a couple of years and want to try and get better.

I was wondering can anyone recommended a good phone holder that attaches to a stand bag? My main use would be to record on the range, But it would be great if it was quick and easy that I can record my shots on the course also, Don't want to be fiddling about with it though.
