Shot 83 today, it's a great score for me... Too many bogeys on the back nine... woulda, coulda, shoulda shot in the high 70's... woulda been a first.

Anyone take a long break b/w the front and back nine. I find my fatigue to be getting the best of me. I was gonna shoot 90 if I played the same on front nine as back nine, but I think I just got tired and [censored].

I'm not really out of shape either.

Played from the white tees on the course I grew up on as my brother was in town. I was in total control of my game for the first 14 holes.

I then did something I have NEVER done in my life on the golf course: I teed my ball up from outside the tee markers.

WHAT??? The rule states you must asses a two stroke penalty after the first stroke, then you must play another shot from within the teeing area.

Nice Quad on that hole. Birdied the next, doubled 17 (bad club/bad management) then a par to finish.

So, two over par. There you go. I love golf - I get to try and go low again tomorrow!

Shot a 38 (+3) on a short, kinda crappy course by me. I'm coming back from a month-long hiatus so it wasn't bad, but I still have a lot of room to improve. I have a goal this year to play in the County Championship and compete in Championship Flight, where the winner is usually 1 or 2 under after 36 holes.

The course that it's played on is a fairly easy course, all 4 Par 5s are reachable in 2, so if I fire on all cylinders for 2 days I might be able to compete.

WOO-HOO. Shot even par over nine holes yesterday. Easy course, but it still made me happy. I hit 7/9 GIR, and one of those misses was on the fringe and only 12 feet or so. The other ended up in a bogey from the worst lie possible (on the back edge of a tall island in a sand trap), and a birdie on the last hole. I was also quite pleased because it came after a change in my swing that on the range felt really positive, and was. We'll see if the goodness continues today.

First round of the year. 54-48-102. Had a shot to break 100 on the back, but drove into the water on an easy par-3 16th. My putting was even more brutal than normal too.

Played a 4 man scramble at Coyote Creek in Illinois (72 rating/130 slope, 6701 yds), shot a 6-under 64. meh.

Beat: We actually played more of a three man scramble since our 4th put a drill bit through his thumb while attempting to install a window about 2 hours before our tee time.

Brag: Won a 5 lb. Hershey bar at the raffle afterwards.

Played 9 yesterday:

Brag: +1 after 6 holes (best run ever)

Beat: Finished +9 overall.

Variance: Finished +9 partially due to hurting my hand. Had to cut my follow through down due to a large branch, didn't want to break the club. Heard a pop in my hand instead. Swollen today, think it's broken?

41 with an opening double bogey on a hole that I par 95% of the time. ARGH.

39 today, I was blocking my driver right all day, and my iron distances are still horribly inconsistent. 4 bogeys, 1 birdie. I'll probably go play 9 more this evening, I'm just still getting back in it so I have trouble walking 18 with no break in-between.

43 on a par 3 9 hole, pretty terrible but my first round in 6 years(i'm 16 now) so i was super pleased

Brag: Played a four man scramble at the Peter Jacobson designed Oregon Golf Club.

Brag: Won the KP prize on the 205 yard 8th with an 11'-2" shot.

Beat: Our team could NOT sink a put within 12' of the hole all day. I think we one putted exactly three times all day. This is a team that includes two players under 10 handicap, and one around 15 or so. Needless to say we finished the day -1, and the winning team was -14.

Variance: Was also KP on another par 3, but was ultimately inched out by 3".

78, a birdie, 2 bogeys and 3 doubles in a 25 MPH wind.

Still cant put it together.

I shot 89 on Sunday at Langston, a par-72 dirt track in DC. My best score ever by like six strokes, which is weird, considering this is maybe my seventh round in the last two seasons, after a four-year hiatus from golf.

I also hit the first three four-irons I've hit in six or seven years, and they were all beautiful.

It probably should have been an 86 or 87, too. I hit all four par-threes in one, but I three-putt three of them (and putting is usually my strength -- just need to remember to take my time), and I also missed a two-footer.

Still, I was obviously pleased.

EDIT: to put it in perspective, my earlier rounds this year were 100 and 112 (in torrential rain) at another muni in DC, East Potomac, which isn't partcularly tough.

Just shot 34 (-1) w/ 9 putts, I started double bogey, bogey and birdied the last 4 in.

Lifetime best today. 72 on a par 71 course.

I played the back nine in two over par with 18 putts, two lipped out. I felt I was putting well, but I just could not make anything. For once though I did not let that get into my head on the tees and fairways. I just kept playing my game. BTW, I did have a 15-footer for birdie at 18 for an even par round...and I choked on that one a bit.

Have not shot golf in 2 years since I was on the golf team. Spent over $1000 on clubs and just gave it up.
I went wednesday and shot an 82 at one of the hardest courses in the area. I was really happy, I drove the ball decent and putted great. Found the water a couple times though. I guess I gave up golf because it costed $48 for 18 holes. When I played for a team we got it free.

Played my favorite course recently, Farm Neck on Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The course you saw Clinton beat up when he vacationed there. It's tough but you can score there...I think, I've never broke 100 in about 8 rounds (22 hdcp).

Perfect conditions, cool with no wind (rare as many holes are on the ocean), practically noone on the course -- I shoot a 112.

My wife, perhaps out of pity or just to get me out of her hair, allows me to play the next day. Far from perfect conditions, crowded course, wind whipping. But I'm striking the ball well for the first time ever playing there. 44 on the front.

I let my excitement at finally breaking 100 get the best of me on the back. A quad on a par 3 and a 10 on a par 5. But throw 2 birdies in the mix and I shot a 52 for a 96 to finally get that monkey off my back.

Ugh. Shot even par less than a week ago, only to shoot a 90 today, on a relatively easy course. Five doubles, a triple, seven pars, and eight penalty strokes. My short game is the only thing that stopped the flood gates.

Shot a 47(Par 37)+46=93 today. However, I was stroking the ball very well! My score is not indicative of how I played. I exploded on 3 holes and if I didn't I could have easily shot mid 80's.

I had a great flop shot over a 20 foot tree that landed within 5 feet of the whole. I had some awesome short game shots all day. I haven't broken 90 yet but I can tell I'm getting very close! GOOD TIMES! I just broke 100 for the first time 2 months ago.

God help me, I'm going to play The Bridges today. (White tees are 71.9/142)

My first time actually playing 18 holes today. Decent public course here in ohio. Par 72, I shot an 87. 43 on front, 44 on back. Pretty happy overall, left a few strokes out there though...

I think I've mentioned this before (maybe even in this thread) but my old man once said something I tend to agree with: "there are three things nobody cares about: how sick you are, how tired you are, or the minute details of your golf game." This thread seriously challenges that last one.

I'll post anyway. Shot a 72 at Las Sendas in Mesa, AZ (mentioning the course cuz some of you may have played it on vacation). We decided to play one up because the course is hard as hell. I think that's still like 6500 yards. Bogeyed #1, parred 11 in a row, then sprinkled two birdies and two bogies in down the stretch. Got done by 11:30 before it got ridiculously hot.

Oh yeah, and in keeping with my "I can't play sober" theme, I had a Jack & Coke in hand by 6:30 AM. Pathetic, I know, but I hit the ball well and counted only 27 putts.

Jeez...46-46. My index right now is 15.5, so I feel like that's the best 92 I've ever shot.

I've actually heard on more than one occasion that the course is unfair, but I disagree, at least from these tees. It's definitely penal, but I don't think it's overly so. Of course, the next time I play there, I'll be hitting it really crooked and lose a box of balls...

I shot a 114 on a par 72 the other day. I am really happy about this!
