Ha, similar experience today.

I also have never broken 80 (my low is 80).

40 on front 9 missing makeable putt on 9th which was for 39.

Followed that with a stellar 46, featuring 2 triples and a double.

40 for nine in pouring rain with two doubles slople 139 sigh

97 at Bethpage Green. 94 there 2 weeks ago. Putting=horrible.

Saturday was a Jekyll and Hyde day - 45 out, 38 in. I took a triple on the front after losing my ball IN THE FAIRWAY and then tilting my next two shots. Sheesh, talk about life tilt. I think that someone picked it up, because there is no other explanation for what happened.

Saturday night we finally got some rain, so I got to go after pins. 41 out, 37 in.

So i go to play today with my new Cleveland CG4 irons and my friend is like "The range closes at 5"...we get there at 6...so i have only hit these as a demo...go out and shoot an 84 with out warming up (usually shoot low 90's) so i am pleased with my new investment. I had these clubs adjusted 1 inch longer than my old ones and most of my shots today went strait, which baffeled me!! Also my 3 hybrid is the best club that I think I have ever hit. Im so glad that I finally have irons that fit me that I can finally hit strait with out warming up!

Played a scramble for the work league... Best shot was a pure driver swing for 290yrds. (Wind at back and hard fairways)

Partner had a new GPS system. Hole was a short par 4 @ 350 and I ended up 60 yrds out...

BEAT: Shot 100 today.

In my defense, the wind was absolutely brutal.

also, i needed new irons (broke most of my old set), so i went with the new Callaway Big Bertha Irons. Good, bad, ugly? I was told they would be a decent set for a hacker like me.

On Sunday, I shot 97. A few pars and a birdie on a par 3. My personal best is 94. I could've easily beated my personal record had it not been for a few triple bogeys on a few easy holes (e.g. bunker shot into the water). My goal for the summer is to not only beat 94, but to crack 90.

Playing today with a guy who is a good friend, but a terrible golfer. I usually give him 5 a side and if he wants out after nine we play for "fun" on the back.

Shoot a 42 on the front, he shoots a 56 and begs out for the back. I shoot a 48 on the back. No reason, it was the first golf shots I had hit all year with no money on the line and I couldn't hit anything right.

Shot 38 on this par 31 I play every couple of mornings before work. 3 pars, 5 bogeys, 1 double bogey. Never broken 40 there before and I usually shoot 45-50. Was on the money with almost everything today... could have easily done better because I blew a few easy putts and left a few chips too far from the hole for me to 1 putt.

Hopefully this is the first of many sub-40 rounds.

I'm not a fan of executive 9-holes. Too many par 3's, too little opportunities to drive the ball.

There are three par 4 holes where I can hit a wood (don't have a driver). Use my 3 on the longest one and my 5 on the other two. If I had a driver I could probably drive the green on the 1st one.

It's the only thing I can play in the mornings before work. Tee off at 7:30, done by 8:45 and plenty of time to go home and shower before work at 10:30.

Another upside is I get tons of short game practice because I usually end up in the rough around the greens. Nothing beats a nice 18, though.

I am new to the game (started playing about 10 months ago) but today I shot my best round to date. 107 at my home course English Turn, Louisiana. 54 on the front, 53 on the back. Only mulligan was on the first tee box. Highlights include making par on three of the four par 3's. I love this freakin' sport!

My club has a yearly singles matchplay tournament (low 64 net scores qualify over several weeks then get setup in brackets) - I'd never made it past the first round in four years of playing this thing, finally won my first match this weekend! I'm a 9.2 index, gave 4 strokes to my opponent, and played absolutely lights out; shot 5 over with 2 3-putts, a nice ass-whooping.

Did shoot an 84 the next day, guess that's my game.

Played a course I've never played. Forgot to grab a scorecard - big mistake. Lots of blind shots. Classic case of building houses/course where there's not enough room. Used my driver 5 times (BOO). Teed off with 7 iron on a few par 4s. ******ed.

Sank a 10 footer for my 2nd birdie of the day to get to 13 over through 13 (This is good for me). This is where the wheels fell off. It was 90 and humid. I had run out of water. The water station at 14 tee was bone dry. Over the next 5 holes, I:

- started getting cramps in my calves and fingers, presumably from dehydration
- my heels started bleeding from blisters - 1st time I've worn the uber-short socks
- multiple bees were landing on my head/face during one shot attempt
- I must have been near a bird nest because a bird kept swooping at my head on one fairway
- lost 5 balls
- finished triple-triple-par-quad-triple for a 97
- nearly passed out in my car on the way home

Ship the trophy for most number of excuses in one round.

85 yesterday. Drove the ball like [censored], just had no idea where it was going. Good thing my putting was better or I would've shot 105.

golf is so rigged, I quit until tomorrow.
I shot a 105 today with 11 of 14 Fairways hit. I only had 1 3 putt, and my short game was solid. How is this possible?
I think I chunked or found water from the fairway on each hole I could. Unbelievable. I don't know what's wrong, I can't hit out of the fairway all of a sudden, thin or fat every time.

Couldnt sleep so took a bus at 615am to the closest golf club The driver sliced insanely like always... any tips to not slice? I can hit around 220+ meters with the insane slice so think I could get some very decent driving if I could hit the ball straight.

My putting was very bad do to being tired combined with super fast greens...

Yesterday was a good example for me about how the short game is where it's at. I couldn't make good contact all day long, but didn't three putt once, got up and down a couple times, and shot a 38 (par 34).

Last Friday was awesome. I shot an 85 on a pretty simple but fun course, but the best part was the gambling. I have a friend who I play with every now and then, usually on executive courses with another friend who is just starting. This friend sees that he hits the ball farther than me, and actually pretty straight, but fails to recognize that I'm 200 times better than him around the greens. Because of this, when setting up the gambling game and handicaps, he volunteers that he will play me straight up. I'm no Tiger, but trust me, this is a good deal for me. I beat him by 10 strokes on the front nine, finish winning all six nassaus I'm playing, plus 13 of 18 skins (we were playing a foursome, other players getting 10 strokes each).

On Sunday, I shot 103 at a course where I've never broken 115.

Three pars, and several chances for birdie.

The finishing hole was a par 4 277 yards, which I drove past the green, nearly taking out the leg of a guy just leaving the green.

I shot my best round of my life today at 88.

Considering I was shooting well into the 100s in March I'm way happy with my progress.

My dad of course shot a 77 on a par 72 (standard).

My cousin works at a local country club out here in Ohio. Its called Tanglewood I believe(sp?). He said I can come out whenever and golf with him for free. Never seen the course, but it should be fun

Shot a 105 today...was +7 on the front nine and + a $hitload on the back.

Every [censored] drive I pulled and hit two water hazards trying to get cute...also tried to hit the green in two on a massive par 5, that didn't work.

Had something of a gut ripper on Saturday. Shot a pedestrian 41 on the front, then figured some things out. Made 3 birdies against 1 bogey on the back through 16, then pulled my approach into 17 slightly. Hit a tree guarding the edge of the green, ball disappeared, couldn't find it. Commence golf tilt.

Triple - double finish for an 81. I'm still ticked two days later about losing that ball.
