Wow, nice. Hopefully you won some bets with this score, if you have an established HDCP you'll end up giving it all back anyway once it hits your index.

No bets, most of my golfing buddies are well beginners and are very pleased if they can break 100.

But my index did drop almost 2 full strokes from a little over 5 down to a hair over 3. I don't really play tourneys or anything so that wont effect me.

Just a matter of pride, from playing close to 100 rounds a year 5 years ago, down to about 10-15 for the past 4, anytime I can play well I am super pleased.

The trend is going well though, my last 4 rounds are +4, +3, +3 (with 37 putts) and then the -1 round yesterday, sure feels good :-). Especially when I have been shooting in the low 80s most of the year.

---

pauite snow: 42-43 (85)

32 putts

---

highland falls: 45-41 (86)

40 putts

* highland falls greens are NOT in playing shape right now, i would not recommend the course to anyone out in vegas until they fix them up.

played absolutely terrible today...a bunch of fat approach shots, and 1 flubbed drive left me pretty pissed off...if it weren't for 3 lucky birdies today i would have put up pretty big number.

195 with a 3 wood. Pretty sick that it was his first hole-in-one at 54 years old, and they happened to be giving away a car.

52-46 98 (37) at ASU Karsten. Terrible day all around. Bad drives, bad irons, bad chipping. I was on pace for a good score on the back, but just blew up on the last two holes. Putting was decent enough I guess, but I never put any shots close enough to the pin for any 1 putts.

Also got yelled at by a screeching idiot that I hit in the neck with one of my drives. It was a downhill blind tee shot and he was playing an adjacent hole and pushed a shot into the fairway I was on. He was going on and on about me not yelling fore and golf etiquette yadda yadda... I don't know why I'm expected to be aware of people on another hole in the middle of my fairway when they can't be seen from the tee box. I asked him how many times he's yelled fore when he hit a drive right down the middle. He snapped, picked up my ball and threw it into a construction area nearby. I politely (read: snarkily) complimented him on his throwing form, exemplary golf etiquette, and reminded him of the two stroke penalty for moving another player's ball. Felt kinda bad at first when I found out what happened and apologized, but that feeling was quickly lost.

I can wait 'til 54 for a hole in one. I'd rather not, but I'll take what I can get.

All 12 penalties were on the front (9 penalties, but 3 were stroke and distance which I view as 2 strokes) as I simply sucked. Putted poorly too, or I could've shot 39 or 40 on the back. Chipped well, drove ok, fairway woods were dialed in. Meh. Live to fight another day.

Using the new and improved ClarkNasty putts per round with score, these were both yesterday up in Prescott:

87 (38) at Antelope Hills North
74 (31) at Hassayampa C.C.

I need to pull a Vijay and convince myself I am a great putter. My reads are good. Where I struggle, sometimes, is with confidence. In the morning round - which was truly atrocious - I didn't feel like I could make a tap-in, much less a putt of any length. Granted, those greens are super tricky but when you put a lame, tentative stroke on it you don't deserve it to go in.

Something happened on my very brief range session before the second round: I decided to put my weight much farther back on my heels, shorten my backswing, and get my hips through above all else on the turn. This worked gloriously - just like the previous week at Forest Highlands, players in my group were losing balls left and right and I managed to keep the same rock the whole round, and really only had one terrible series of shots - on the 14th, which I nearly parred anyway.

Also, remarkably, I never hit a club longer than a 3-iron all round, just trying to steer it in play. Even on the longest par-4s, which measured to 460 or so, I just took it out and took my chances. I was on fire with my mid-short irons. The putting was mildly suspect (14 GIR, only two birdies), I left a ton of 10-20 foot putts on the lip and the round "felt" like a 69 or 70 and was hampered by a mega lame double bogey from the middle of the fairway on #9. Our team net of -7 was one worse than the team that won, but we got a decent amount of money for our efforts.

Brent valley same course as last time quite forgiving 42/42 85 (33)
I’m made up, it’s a new personal best it’s only the second time I have broken ninety the first being a few years back now.
Drove Ok not particularly long but either on the fairway or just off. Except on the 5th were I hit a hard hook onto an adjacent fairway.
Hybrid and fairways were hit and miss some good a couple of horrid shots.
Irons were not great a bit low and left but mostly usable.
Wedges were a big improvement made some nice chips to puttable lengths still had a few stinkers stubbed two chips inches forwards by decelerating into the ground behind the ball.
Putting was pretty good, sunk a twenty footer for par on the 436 yard par 4.
Only made two three puts both on the front nine.
I got a little shaky coming up the last and didn’t hit a good shot but got away with a seven.

holla that was the first time I've played in like 3 months and it was in sandals with my buddies mp33s. I gtg to Houston to get my sticks when the roads are driveable then I'm down to go play.

TopGolf is fun, you get drunk, food is decent, and if you go with 3-4 friends you can play about 2 games an hour (each game is like $5.50).
