I'm right there with you. Shot a 52 (par 36). Swing feels like an unfolding lawn chair at the moment.

Roll up tonight decent turn out with a few of the ladies join us more and more which is good.

I'm not sure how but I managed to get 2nd shooting level par playing off 2 for 9 holes which equates to 20 points.

I say I'm not sure how because I didn't play good, I just had some clutch up and downs and putted really well.

As a group as a hole we had 1 Eagle and 6 birdies which was pretty decent.

81 (par 71) from the tips yesterday at the home course. I should probably play them more often than I do (only 6900, usual boxes are either 6450 or 6100) as a test, and the game held up very nicely. Hit driver really solid which was the biggest factor.

Highlighted by a 30-footer for birdie on 18. As well, my first eagle since joining last year. #9, 550 yards. Hit a peach of a drive center cut, then 250y out into the wind slightly uphill hit a beautiful 3 wood that pitched into the front of the green and roll to about 8-10 feet and soulread the putt. Felt amazing.

41-39-80. 1 birdie, 1 double bogey. 70.3/135/6,027 yards

Interesting change of pace today. This course is an Arthur Hills design, the layout is nice but conditions have been really, really rough over the past few years. At some point last year or the year before they lost their irrigation. Heard that it was coming back together this year so gave it a shot. It's not 100% but it was still worth playing. Anyway, between that and the fact that we had major storms this past week, conditions were ... interesting. Greens were smooth but super soft and as slow as you're going to find. No rollout at all, maybe a 6 or something on the stimp. Lots of places were waterlogged. Bunkers were trash. Fairways were nice, but again, no rollout at all.

Ball striking was mostly average, but I had the best day with the short irons and wedges in quite a while. Hit zero chips and no bump and runs, there was no such thing as run. Instead it was lofted wedges, land 'em close and they stop dead.

It's going to be interesting putting tomorrow on greens that'll probably be running 11.5.

78 today +9 not great in a comp.

Got stuck with one of the slowest players ever today and it was draining. He isn't new to the game, Numerous times he hit his ball into a bush and he knew full well he did and it isn't the type of bush you're going to find your ball. He didn't hit provisional balls, He'll look for his ball and then go well I'll go back and hit another one. Really grinds my gears cause I'm super conscious of the people behind us and feel bad for them and I actually start rushing a bit I know I shouldn't. He takes so long to line up his putts as well and he'll wait until its his turn when a lot of the time you can start the process whilst others are putting.

Got to a point where I said to everyone in our group we are losing ground on the group in front think we lost about 1 and 1/2 holes on them, This is when I started walking right to my ball and if I got to my ball before them even out of turn I'll just hit my shot. Caught up by the 14th/15th hole.

Played 18 today front 9 we did a 2v2 match play and as one of them had to leave we just went for a knock about on the back 9.

Back 9 I went -3 and had chances on 17 and 18 to get it to -4. What's funny as the round was so casual the other 2 I was playing with didn't even realise I was under par until I told them afterwards

Draw come out for our knockout comps one a handicap knockout and the other a scratch knockout. In both I got the same guy and he is one of my good friends that I play with a lot so should be fun.

Played 18 sunday 48-43-92 69.7/126/6043. Front nine I dropped a few shots trying to play the 5 wood that continues to haunt my dreams. Back 9, there were two bad swings that cost me 4 shots. Distance control was good, but shot dispersion needs work. Got high hopes for tomorrow night...

Yeesh. Started out with five straight doubles. Just a total out-of-body experience.

48 (Par 35) . Further confirmation that I need (1) a lesson; and (2) more practice. Did manage to win my matchup, but not happy about my play.

A couple wayward drives triggered the doubles. Wasn't a grade A ball striking day, but was better toward the end. Pitching and chipping was mediocre. Putting pretty good, though I had too many putts that missed by a ball or less left, right or short.

booker - how many rounds you play a week?

Most weeks 9 holes on Tuesday, 18 on Saturday, 18 on Sunday. I don't miss too many of those during the season.

The last few years I've added once or twice a month 18 on Friday, though that will likely stop after this year.

+1 in the Friday roll up seems like I can only play decent golf on Friday.

I had a think to why I was hitting it left all the time and I put it down to me taking the club back on the inside and getting it way behind me. Today I purposely kept the club out in front of me this made me turn a little more. Felt really weird 1st few shots more so with the longer clubs. Honestly felt like I wasn't even hitting the ball but still getting the yardage if not more out of it. Not one ball went left. Will see how tomorrow goes but felt like I was actually in control of the ball somewhat.

Had 2 birdies and 3 bogeys. 2 of the bogeys come from horrid bounces on Par 3's. Last Bogey come from me rushing on the last as it started pee'ing it down which I took my time now as I lost on count back and ended up coming 2nd.


Day before played my knockout match lost 4&2 really didn't play well and was playing a person in form. Had to give him 2 shots. Got to play the same person in a scratch match next week so hopefully I can get something going.

40-40-80. No birdies, 2 double bogeys. 67.8/126/5625 yards

One mental mistake on each nine for a double. Had a lot of decent looks at birdie, just couldn't get any of them to drop.

106 2 pars, 3 bogies on a former PGA tour stop. So, it's definitely the courses I'm playing, not me.

40-37-77 yesterday (68.3/124/6119, par 71). Three birds, one double.

Teed it forward with a client, was nice and friendly on the score. Helps to be able to hit driver/wedge or 3-wood/wedge into every par 4 from these tees, despite not hitting the ball as good as I can. Putting was great though. So much confidence on any green right now.

43-47-90. (Par 36=37=73). No birdies, 1 double bogey. 72.0/137/6471 yards.

Rough day. Nothing was good. Fifteen bogeys.

New personal best for me and lowest 9 hole total ever on the back 9. Hadn't broken 80 since 2021 when I shot 79 twice, so felt good to get back into the 70s.

Was striking it well but main thing was the lack of 3-putts. Made a bunch of 5-6 footers to save par.

One bad swing on the front nine... hooked a drive OB on a short par 4. Re-teed and managed to hit a solid drive, great wedge to 5 feet, and made the putt to salvage a bogey and keep the round afloat.

Played a men's golf event at the club yesterday. Front 9 best ball, back 9 chapman. -2 on the best ball and +1 on the chapman. Finished t3 gross.
