9 hole league match tonight
1st vs 2nd basically for all the marbles.
I don't know this guy but as said before people have told me he is a bit of a bandit. I ended up giving him 6 shots.
1st hole shot hole. I hit it about 240 down the right side. He hits it just a little further on the same line. I hit my approach to about 15 feet. He hits his to about 8 feet. I drain my birdie putt hopefully putting a bit of pressure on hit but he nails his birdie putt. 1 down.
2nd hole no shot. I end up making bogey hitting a terrible approach thought I got away with it as he chunked his approach, but he put his next shot to 3 feet a holed the putt. 2 down.
3rd hole shot hole. Par 5 Both make Bogeys (Terrible 3 putt from me)
4th hole shot hole long par 3. He pulls his shot left. I do the same and end up in the bunker. He has about a 50-yarder pitch shot blind sticks it to 10feet. I over cook my bunker shoot and have a chip for Par nearly goes in just a little short. Didn't matter though he holed the Par putt. 4 Down.
5th hole short par 3 no shot. I make Par he makes bogey. 3 down
6th hole long par 4. I'll fast forward to the green. He has a putt for par just off the green about 40 feet. Nearly goes in ends up making 5. I must chip in and end up miss losing 4&3.
So, after that experience he isn't a 26 handicap
I'd say he is probably a single digit but if I had to put it into a range 8-12 handicap, I would say ... I was talking to him, and he said he used to play when he was a kid and used to play off 7, I was like well that's great then
... I kind of knew I was going to get smoked today granted I didn't bring my game today but even if I did, I don't really think I would have stood a chance.
I told the guy to call the league if he wants to as it's kind of fizzled out and people haven't been playing their matches. I have 1 match left and for me to come 1st I'd have to win 5&4 vs a guy who hits it a mile just isn't going to happen. I'll end up finishing 2nd. With a record of 18 Wins 3 Draws and 3 Losses.
