Shot 86 (38-48) on a par 70 (35-35) course yesterday. Being a 15 hcp. it was pretty fun to play the front nine in just 3 over par, sadly I couldn't keep it together and got punished for some bad drives on the back nine. Not a single 3-putt though which I believe is a first for me.

Just found this forum and I love it.
Shot 69 yesterday at Elks Course in Yakima. My lowest round of the year. And I lost by 3 to one guy and 2 to another. Ugh.

You need a round with some of my work buddies. They know I play a lot of golf and invited me out to this little 9 holer yesterday.

I shot 39. 51, 55, 63. It was fun. We laughed a lot.

participated in next to last league night. took a GIANT step back.

driver was alright, only one lost ball and that was in the sun. didn't feel like a bad swing.
hit 3wood for the first time in like forever. nice and straight, except it was frigging shorter than my 5hybrid for some reason. 8 3-putts, 1 2-putt. lolz.

had the worst time with hybrids and irons. trouble started on the range when i couldn't get 7i and 5h airborne. kept hitting it thin. adjusted, started hitting it better. get on the course, and started hitting it fat. *** me. hate golf.

I am hoping that I transition well into the club championship this weekend. Unfortunately, both guys that beat me yesterday are playing this weekend. One is a +3 and the other is scratch. Maybe I can win the net side. (Man that hurts to say)

shot +2 this morning for 9 holes from the back tees, first time to walk in quite a while, but will be doing that now almost exclusively due to lack of money..lol

1/6 Fairways Hit
1/9 GIR
12 Putts

Didnt miss greens by much, usually on fringe....chipped one in for birdie on hardest hole on the course

Hitting driver was rather different though, it kinda sprayed most of the day

Shot 118 on a par 71. First ever 18 holes. I'm pretty happy with that.

Shot a 95 today on a tough course. Greens are huge and soft but lots of undulation. You could hit every GIR and still have a tough time scoring. Lots of fun and beautiful day!

hey great whistler report!!!!

and thinning the wedge out of bounds. that's brutal, but that's me sometimes too. it's such a killer. 110 yards out looking at potential birdie and you take triple bogey.

wow, when you get beyond 120, are you still keeping score?

i mean it seems sort of pointless as to whether you got 8, 9, 10+ etc.

better to track your few good holes......... and don't get me wrong. i shoot 104 sometimes myself, counting every stroke.

47-41=88 at Cross Creek in Beltsville, Md. Played the 6,035-yard blue tees. Seven fairways, six greens, 29 putts.

The course is very narrow, and I lost several balls, which makes this score all the more encouraging. Made several 15-20 foot putts and had just one three-putt all day, on 18, when I popped up my drive and then put my three-metal like 60 feet away on the lower tier; I mis-read my first putt and left it way short. Two birdies on the back, which I'm not sure I've ever done.

I'm really pleased with the way I'm hitting the ball, and the putting was there today, after a recent hiatus. I'm not as good off the tee as I have been and I'd like to get that straightened out. Still, 88 is just one shot off my low round of all-time, and on a much tougher course, so this is probably my best round ever. w00t!

45-36 - 81

10 over on front with only like 3 pars and then even on the back with 3 birdies, 3 bogeys and 3 pars...

golf can be so stupid sometimes...lol

hey, tommy "two glove" don't know his last name. but i see he's on the tour. was on the big break on golf network.

even though i'm responding here, i think the greatness of the what did you shoot is its continuity???........ at very least, it should be monthly or started by a moderator.

I have a buddy that started wearing wristbands a while back. I put them pretty high on the 'douchey' scale, but he swears by them. Apparently they're great at keeping sweat from running down to your hands.

OTOH, I just keep a big towel on my bag at all times and wipe my forearms/wrists/hands down before each shot in the summer.

So why don't you go out and not keep score? Kinda hilarious that you just take a guess at what pros do, then fail to see ANY difference between two well off pros and complete beginners.

Luckily, I've never shot 135 or recorded over 9 on a hole. Why should I be taking a few X's? I paid to play and we don't slow down play. We also have bets going on, so adding a bunch of BS rules would screw things up. The only rule we knowingly don't follow is the lost ball being stroke + distance, since that would slow down play. Not sure why you are so concerned with people keeping score over 120.

blue, as long as you are keeping up pace of play I think you should do what you want.

I think the other poster was referring to practice rounds when he talked about Tiger & Phil. Obviously they don't keep score as they hit multiple shots from random spots, etc. For most of us who have to keep up pace of play the closest we can probably come to this is dropping a second ball from time to time to try a shot again. But it is helpful when you're thinking, "I know what I did wrong." Obviously if you go out when the course is wide open, you can do more. It's a good opportunity to work on short game shots, awkward lies, putts, etc.

And I think it's generally pretty common to pick up when you've reached 10 strokes or maybe double par to aid pace of play, even when gambling with buddies - as long as every does the same thing it shouldn't have that big an effect. Does a 10 really have any chance of winning the hole?

But as long as you're keeping up pace of play, do what you want.
