Played the tips in prep of the club championship in 2 weeks. My swing was garbage but I limped around decently.

Course closes tomorrow in prep for hurricane. This is gonna be the worst one here in around 100 years. Should be interesting.
Good luck and stay safe!

Spoiler:
I'll be playing tomorrow evening in your honor

44-41-85. No birdies, 2 double bogeys. Grande Dunes.

Longer course today, ball striking was quite good, chipping somewhat better, putting frustrating. Left three or four putts one revolution short dead center.

Played a 9 hole match today vs someone to similar skill level to me, I think we are within .5 of each other handicap wise. Was pretty fun.

I went 1 up on the 1st, Then by the 3rd we were level, Made a pretty good bogey after a drop shot from hitting it in a bush, He made a good par. He goes 2 up on the 4th and then on the 6th he hits his 2nd to under a foot putting him 3 up with 3 to play.

7th I make a 2 to get one back and then on 8 make a par where he makes double bringing it back to one. Had a putt to tie on the last and hit a good putt just missed so lost by 1 with us both getting Par's

Was fun though, We are complete opposites. My edge over him is within like 150 yards, Where his edge is all about distance, good back and forth game though.

He was like I can brag about this and wind you up about this now... My reply "What did you shot in the 1st round of club champs?" (+19 the answer is)

41-42-83. 1 birdies, 1 double bogey. Kings North at Myrtle Beach National.

Disgraceful putting. Hit the ball well enough to be mid 70s, chipped fine, was even 2/3 good sand shots. Missed many short birdie and par putts.

looks like raindance is a Harrison Minchew/Fred Funk collaboration, and apparently Minchew worked with Palmer for several years before starting his own thing.
the overall routing appears to be connecting dots between a handful of peninsula green marketing photos, not really shaped to accept the way a majority of people play

Ugh, worst week yet playing my tuesday night league. Haven't adjusted to new driver yet, and could not hit a decent approach shot to save my life. To add insult to injury, my putting was terrible. Normally its one thing that is off, now its everything. Time for a lesson (or ten!).

42-41-83. 1 birdie, I think 3 doubles. Tidewater.

This is not a ****ing repeat. I guess the ball striking was a bit worse, putting fractionally better but still lousy.

Well gave that guy another 9 hole match tonight and I came out of it 1 up shooting -1 in total.

Both played pretty Good, Started Birdie/Birdie/Par Then bogey on 4 and got Par's for the rest. I think he shot +1 in total he had 2 Birdies as well.

Again pretty fun match. I was trying a new right hand grip making it stronger "felt like" I was going to lose a bit of control however it didn't really do anything, But I think I gained a few yards.

We received 1 inch of rain and about 50 mph of winds max. We receive more rain in an afternoon thunderstorm.

Ft. Myers probably not as lucky as me.

The course I wanted to play was doing a tourney. Guy said check out poquoy brook golf club 2 towns further south in Lakeville mass. So I played a new course today. It's in really good shape and the greens were in especially good condition. Aerated tee boxes but that doesn't bother me.

Par 73. 6291 we played white tees. 6871 blue.

4 pars. 3 bogeys. 3 Xs. Rest in between.

Hoping to go back before winter.

Had a really good range session today and feeling a lot better after Tuesday's debacle. Simple grip change seems to have rectified the situation nicely. Will Report back after next Tuesday's round to confirm...

42-40-82. No birdies, 1 double bogey. Prestwick CC, Surfside Beach.

More of same but with worse ball striking and somewhat better putting.

Now for an unwanted off day thanks Ian.

40-46-86 Par 72

Was +7 after 15 holes, legit chance to break 80 if I could par the last 3 holes. Melted down on the 16th, short Par 3, hooked a 7 iron into a lake, had to re-tee and carded a triple bogey 6. Proceeded to double bogey 17&18, for a tidy +7 on my last 3 holes.

Disappointing finish but on the bright side was striking the ball flush most of the day, hit a bunch of GIR and a lot of good approach shots.

72 +3 in the club medal currently leading

I've tweaked my right hand grip a little stronger and before I think I had the club to much in the fingers with my right hand if too much is even possible, It's only a very small tweak but it feels so different it's actually crazy. I feel like I don't really have to do anything and the club releases by itself. I feel like I've lost a bit of directional control however I never really hit anything offline. The bad shot was longer irons that I smothered and hooked a bit to much. I think distance wise I've gained a little from it, However judging the approach shot's distance wise is a bit harder.

Was -1 on the back till the 18th made a silly bogey after my approach got a bad bounce into the bunker played a good bunker shot but just missed the putt.

40-43-83

1 birdie, 2 doubles

First time touching a club since last weekend, not sharp. Did notice I had the ball too far up in my stance with the 3 wood, started hitting it good after that.

One week out from the club championship here. Time to get the **** straightened out.

41-41-82. 2 birdies, a few double bogeys. Long Bay Club.

Seems like 2/5 is an awful conversion rate for birdie putts inside five feet. Oh well. Last day of the trip.

the dye course? 82 seems a decent score from most any tee

40 - 43 = 83

I guess i should feel ok that I FEEL like I'm playing like ****, but still not scoring THAT high. I'm actually playing 175 in really well (I've never hit my wedges better), but my driver and fairway woods are complete trash. When you don't hit a single good drive all day, it's easy to feel like you played horribly.

I guess I just need to a few more lessons and to practice more once I figure it out. It's very frustrating to ping pong between driving it decent, and driving like crap.

That's actually perfect for heading into an important tournament. Last thing you want to do is light it up and feel like you have it all figured out, that's a recipe for disaster. At least that's how its worked in the past for me....

50
20 putts, 3 penalties

Driver continues to be a problem, but iron striking and chipping were much improved.

6300 yards par 72. Hadn't played in a week. Agreed to 830 start at pro shop. I did some stretching in the parking lot. On my way to the tee at 825, the starter said you're on the tee and you need to catch the group on the fairway. I got irritated and didn't get much for warm up swings. I caught them on the 1st green. Nice guys from out of state.

2 birdies (birdie on 436 yard par 5 seems more like a par) 1 par, 5 bogeys. Rest was quite bad.

Best shot was 4 iron on par 3 fifteenth. 168 paced from a plaque. Pin probably 175 yards slightly back. Had 6 feet for birdie down a fast slope. Missed an inch to the left.

2 birdies, no doubles

Played the tips as my last round before the club championship this morning. Yesterday the greens were running really fast, probably the best I have ever seen. Fairways are cut super tight as well, which I have NEVER seen at my club. That near miss hurricane and no rain in the past week (which is basically unheard of this time of year) has set the course up perfectly.

As I look out my office window they are rolling the greens again, should be fun!
